I caught them all. More specifically, I caught every pokemon in the first 4 gens (that's 491 different pokemon) by myself, without trading with the exception of the legendaries that can't be caught within the game. I did that as an adult over years of on and off playing. I had to play through most of the games several times but now my pokedex on Diamond Version is complete. There's since been new games released but I only had time to do it when I was a student and to be honest it's a tedious grind that I don't want to repeat. You can add "played World of Warcraft when I was supposed to be doing x" to that as well on innumerous occassions.
