New mega man game got announced and with it a robot master design contest. I wonder if Murata is thinking about going for his third contest win.

The one where the main character gets Isekai'd by getting stabbed to death, with his last words to his friend being "please, take my computer and dunk it into a bathtub full of water while powered on, then smash it so nothing on the hard drive can be recovered!" reminds me of Solo Leveling, but not in a good way.

Haven't seen any specifically about restaurants. Closest I've seen is about a guy that gets "Online Grocery" as his Special Skill from being summoned. (The war crimes there is slaughtering orcs to eat them because humans eat orcs in that world)

No warcrimes in Chef at the Adventurers' Tavern. But that comes with it being a chill, low stakes story outside of sourcing non-sentient monster flesh so his adoptive dragon daughter doesn't die of malnutrition. Our guy got isekaid and all he cares about is serving people good food at his tavern, hanging out with his friends and regulars, and being a doting father. No harems (only one woman is trying to court him and he is too dense to notice), no slaves, no overpowered skills (he is completely unable to fight and is a normal dude). Just a dude who loves finding ways to make something edible out of seemingly inedible plants and animals.

So this entire season, built around the raid, is gonna make it maybe 1/4 (or less) of the arc I guess? So much time wasted having still images and voices talking at each other. I saw the ratings and reactions for episode 10 and I am just not even bothering. It seems the peak was the ninja fight and even that would've been done better in season two, ignoring season one completely even, imo. I still really like the comic tho, so that's going alright at least.

JFC that was just straight up trash. Did the entire animation team lose its budget to a collective gambling / drug addiction?

Season 2 definitely looks better when you see how bad season 3 has been, which doesn't make it good but does show how much worse it could have been. They basically pulled off an "okay" season that was probably doomed from the start given they were trying to follow the incredible season 1.

Takes No Damage posted:we need MORE FRAMES Wow, it's as if anime production relies on much more than whatever studio is managing the project and more on who is leading the work, their connections to bring in subcontractors/subcontracted studios, and the overall passion for the project. Wait, wasn't One Punch Man Season 1 a prime example of what I just stated? Yes, Madhouse was the main studio managing the project, but it was an ensemble work of people from all over the industry who were very excited to be bringing OPM to animation. JC Studio has put out some good work this season on other titles. Lamebot fucked around with this message at 20:33 on Dec 16, 2025 |

I've been actively rewatching the first two seasons and season two looks good outside of like a half dozen shots that go by in a second. The audio design had more issues than the animation. It gets poo poo because yes, season one looked phenomenal. It doesn't mean season two was trash. Compared to a lot of other shows it looks pretty fantastic actually. There's a few shots that I do think could've used work, but over the course of an entire season? Lol it's fine. It seems most complaints come from comparing it to season one or the manga. "Saitama didn't look down for a single frame like he did in the panel of the manga" man it's gone instantly who cares except comic dorks. Again, compared to, like, most other shows season two looks pretty goddamn good. Season three isn't. At all. If season three was the same level as season two that would've be totally fine, but instead it's just objectively bad as a show.

In an ideal world they would've released the first two episodes and told everyone that they look terrible and theyre going to redo them, look forward to the improved version in 2 years But that's not how things work, we'll always push out a mediocre product right now

Season 2 is animated at middling quality non famous IP show or roughly in the filler seasons of a weekly non stop show like old bleach or naruto. I feel like it only looks better now compared to season 3 being absolute trash. It lacks good direction which also carries over into season 3 but does have more overall "animation". The problem is a lot of the animation isn't very good!! s2 hardly has anything that you'd define as quality sakuga and they gently caress up the execution of things constantly.

I cannot believe the wheel of fate is turning and now we have S2 Apologists in this thread. One Punch Man truly has become dogwater, the doubters were right, Murata is a fraud who should just churn out Fubuki doujins from now on.

Multiple shows are animated at a high level every season so while maybe they couldn't quite reach S1 levels there shouldn't have been anything stopping them from making a quality adaptation of season 2. For a hit IP it's bad. Relative to s1 its obviously bad. Relative to other productions in the seasons around it it's mid at best! But probably also bad!!

It seemed pretty well received by, like, everyone else that isn't a diehard nerd about the comic? The reviews and ratings it generally got definitely don't line up with the "absolute trash" rhetoric for sure. But then "the comic is also trash compared to the webcomic" is a take that comes up every so often as well so maybe this whole franchise is just poo poo lol It's trash, all the way down.
