I don't really see this as Tornado being into Saitama (but who knows) so much as being the protective older sister. Fubuki probably is tho. I feel like Tornado is crushing on Genos a bit after the whole thing what with getting his help.

Metal Bat remains one of the best characters tho. This whole arc has been amazing :allears:

Metal Bat is legit as hell. He has all the traits of a usual anime hero, minus the talking. Which I appreciate. I do love the running gag of *everyone* slowly getting more and more annoyed at monologues and long explanations.

The only Yusuke I know was watching a friend play Persona 5. Google tells me there's an anime guy that looks kind of like him which makes more sense.

I just like Metal Bat, he's neat.

The only animes I know are Trigun (I liked it), My Hero Academia (my girl makes me watch it), Attack on Titan (my ex loved it, it is awful), and bits and pieces of anime I have seen here and there. I am not really an anime person :shobon:

I heard it was good with punching and also there's a weeb in it who is actually cool and awesome even tho he's not the main guy. It sounds good, should I watch it y/n?

He's got a thing for monster girls and can any of us fault that? If you can then this might not be the comic for you.

I thought the animation in season two was fine, the story was just the manga but moving and I'll be honest I'm just here to see *at least* one punch.

syntaxfunction
Oct 27, 2010

I'm not against better animation at all, I just enjoyed season 2 regardless. It was definitely a step down from the first season, but I enjoyed the show too much to rally get upset about the animation.

Now realistically why doesn't someone just ask Murata to redraw season 2? It might kill him, but he'd do it.

syntaxfunction
Oct 27, 2010

I was under the impression that half the time ONE is taking a break and Murata is a workaholic who chooses to do redraws rather than stop for one second.

syntaxfunction

As a general rule live-action adaptations of things don't go terribly well, and then you got a writer known for Rick and Morty who could possibly be seen as, uh, not the right vibes we'll say, for a One Punch Man adaptation.

Like it could be great, or it'll be really bad, and historically speaking bring the popcorn and poo poo talking lmao

syntaxfunction
Oct 27, 2010

If the quality is closer to a Marvel comic adaptation than a Shyamalan Avatar adaptation it could be alright. But like, holy poo poo why are anime live-actions so bad almost all the time lmao

I think the advantage with OPM is the humour is parody based and also a lot closer to what a regular rear end, non-anime fan would expect in terms of humour. So we'll see!

I'm gonna assume it'll be terrible and maybe be wonderfully surprised tho.

I love that Murata appreciates twinks as much as he appreciates attractive ladies. Really feel the solidarity.

Any OPM movie should just not have Saitama in it, be a legit action movie with other heros struggling and then at the very end this random bald guy shows up and one shots it because the monster stepped on his favorite store.

These redraws are good too!

First 45 minutes are from the other heroes points of view, really hectic, lots of chaos and hard fights, drawn close to an inevitable end, only to be saved by this random dude.

Rewind to Saitama's day for the most mundane possible interpretation of everything we have seen so far.

syntaxfunction
Oct 27, 2010

If Ninja Mans tries to force Saitama to take the cube and Saitama is like "hey no quit that" and just does the karate chop sort of thing he does that would be alright, especially if he just wanders in not knowing what's going on but heard people talking and felt left out.

But realistically it'll be Blast.

Tangentially related I started watching Mob Psycho 100 and the art is way more like ONE's webcomic art but refined, and somehow it is still more gorgeous than a lot of "technically fine but aesthetically boring" anime I've seen. More than anything tho I love that he has a writing style that is so strong and identifiable.

It's good, and this comic is so good. And unlike most media I am not waiting for it inevitably to go to poo poo and forget what it was trying to do in the first place.

But Murata please stop beating yourself up, your family loves you (I hope).

The Hero Association is not amazing, I don't think it was ever meant to seem like it? In fact there's a lot of pointing to pleasing donors and the like above the average person. The whole point is it's not a good thing and while there's lots of good people who disagree it's a bureaucratic mess. And the Neo Heroes look a lot more put together and without that baggage, so that's enticing. That's the whole appeal. They even went for vigilante guys who refused to join the HA *because* of the red tape.

So natch they're clearly up to some Nefarious Barn Deeds(tm) but how the gently caress else you gonna encourage others to join if you're all wearing skulls and blaring music about killing civilians or something come on really that's like 101 stuff.

It's always fun to to be reminded that Suiryu and Superalloy do actually kick rear end after watching them both be taken down. Against the Monster King or Saitama they suck, okay, sure, but it's still fun to watch them just clown on random egoists :kimchi:

I'd like to once again appreciate the equal fan service for the hot women and also cute twinks and buff dudes in this comic. Don't personally love Tatsumaki with the treatment but in Murata I trust, namaste and amen. He's an equal opportunity thirst creator and I love that for him.

I'm glad Manako is hanging out with Saitama for shenanigans they're so good together :3:

Speaking of Saitama shenanigans I think we're at the point where like a good half of S-class know he's strong, and half still realise just how strong, with the others still underestimating? It's been fun watching a bunch of them go "eh gently caress it, get Saitama he'll sort it".

I did a re-read of the comic up to now and it's making me antsy the dang anime season is now gonna be 2025. Expecting it to hit up to probably Cosmic Garou, that'd rule.

syntaxfunction
Oct 27, 2010

I don't mind the redraws at all, and tbh it's kind of fun watching them pause, rewind, redo it differently. Idunno, maybe I'm not in a particular hurry and just enjoying the process.

I'll buy the actual finished volumes when they're done done, so it's kind of like a behind the scenes, and I am a massive dork for those.

syntaxfunction
Oct 27, 2010

If Murata redraws season 2 then he won't have time to redraw stuff for the comic, but we know he'd never let down on the release. Everyone wins!

Except Murata would probably work himself to death. So that's a downside, note that.

syntaxfunction
Oct 27, 2010

The difference is a main character actually experienced it and knows what it's like because they got rescued and that poo poo sucks bad so they didn't want it to happen to someone else. Lot realer when you remember it.

As for why not break it I'd just say "cause spooky otherdimensional fuckery you probably don't want to tempt" tbh
