Dr. Video Games 0031 posted:Man, Chie might have the most voiced lines in the game. It's crazy to think that she'll have a different voice. I liked her new voice actress just fine in the anime, but man, the director in the game really needed to rein her in a bit. She's fine when she's not yelling, but so far (3.5 hours in) the vast majority of her lines are WAY too loud.

Speedball posted:I haven't actually seen the Reaper yet, but, uh....I do sometimes hear rattling chains if I explore a floor too long. It's unnerving. I think the way it works in this game, unlike Persona 3, is that if you stay in a dungeon too long you start hearing that, and then he'll be in one of the treasure boxes if you haven't opened them all yet. You'll be really thoroughly warned about not wanting to open it by your support character, and if you ignore it you have to fight him. The first time I had no idea what it was so I went for it and got killed in a single turn. This time it was right at the end of going through an optional dungeon Floor 1, so I said gently caress it, and then won.

Beat all optional bosses by the time the true ending starts and you're saying goodbye to everyone, and then go into the velvet room and talk to Margaret again after you get the orb thing but before you go fight the real final boss.

Sex_Ferguson posted:The dub's pretty good, some of the choices they made were weird like Kanji saying twat, but they've managed to actually completely remove the honorifics and make it sound natural. I don't think I need to repeat how good Naoto's voice is in it so I won't. Although I'm gonna repeat this, recasting JYB as Yu and Adachi is one of the dumbest things they could've done, it brings down JYB's overall focus because now he has to do double work for two characters with full dialogue and if they ever converse with one another (Which they do) then poo poo just gets weird. The raspy voice is really grating and it just begs the question of why they didn't just recast Yu or Adachi, preferably Yu. That's like the biggest complaint I have with the dub though, so that's that. I'm almost 100% sure they're the same voice actor in everything (Japaese game, American game, and American anime at least, not sure about the Japanese anime) on purpose. Giving the (LATE GAME SPOILERS)hero and villain the same voice to show they're different aspects of the same thing/different routes that had the same starting point isn't uncommon.
