Somehow it's become normal in the games industry to gatekeep content behind $60 charges, truly despicable.

You aren't kept from any content in Pokémon Picross. You can complete the whole game without spending a dime if you want

Doing so is extremely aggravating and unfun though, even by most F2P game standards.

Kiss the Joycon to Kiss Zelda

I'm pretty sure I played Pokemon Picross for over 100 hours without spending any money. It was all just in short bursts. I've never been a F2P person but it was fine just being able to do a Picross puzzle or two.

I meant I decided to get the game solely because of the Arwing, obviously I'm going to give the game a go also. That said I also went out and grabbed an extra ship and all the weapons packs. I was told that what i saw on the shelf is all they got, and all they were expecting to get. So yeah I guess Ubisoft is worried people are sick of these things and it might flop.

The Arwing is cool in the game, when you use your special ability another arwing shows up to help you fight and it plays the theme from Star Fox.

I tried getting back into the eShop Picross games but since Konami put out their picross game on mobile I can't get used to the controls and having the X's fill in automatically helps so much.

Though that one does have some drat tough puzzles and no way to get hints since that button is effectively broken.

Yep, that's the same one I found via Google. I'll be looking forward to your review, then.

Trip report: I can't speak to long-term comfort or battery life since I just got it and it's still charging but I can confirm that it's real and it works.

The "cap" end is one of those fat capacitative styluses that work even unpowered. It works well on the Switch - you don't need to apply a ton of pressure to get it to register, and even that end is precise enough to work with TWEWY.

The "point" end requires the stylus to be powered on (duh, it's active) and I don't know how long a full charge will last for, but it's incredibly precise, works very well, and requires absolutely no pressure at all to do its thing (it technically works if it's within like, 0.5mm of the surface).

All in all it seems like a pretty handy thing to have around, but I'm not sure how much I'll use the fine point active side because even with a screen protector on and it requiring zero pressure to register, I'm not sure I trust myself to not accidentally scratch stuff when furiously slashing.

I'd honestly say that you're probably fine with one of those fat/hemispherical non-active capacitative styluses and could save $15 over the price of just buying one of those, but I can't say this was a bad buy and it does what it's advertised as doing.

Wait. If the active end of the pen works, then that means the switch has a Wacom or Wacom-like digitizer on the screen.

Either you have a wonky active and passive pen, or the switch has a Wacom digitizer that no one knew existed till now.

Can someone with a Wacom or Microsoft surface pen or an IPad Pro pen try it to see if it’s not just a fluke?

Lemon-Lime

The stylus is advertised as an active capacitative stylus, and the active end only works when it turns on, so I'm pretty sure the stylus is working fine. :v:

big deal
Sep 10, 2017

why would a capacitive stylus need to be powered? not that I know how they work but if the big ones work unpowered it seems weird that they couldn’t make a little one. maybe it needs to do its own electrical bullshit because a tiny point wouldn’t register enough?

I wouldn’t mind if people posted stuff like this. There’s so much eshop to wade through, it’s difficult to know what is good, and the main Switch thread moves too fast and either doesn’t talk about games, or talks about one game.

It came out yesterday I believe. I downloaded it today. Also offgamer ostensibly sells 500 yen cards, but they haven't been in stock any time I've checked, so I just bought a 1000 yen card. I can probably buy a puzzle game or something for the other 500. How does the kemono friends sudoku cost.

I bought Kemono Friends Picross but then like 2 days later Konami put out a free phone picross and I've been playing that instead.
