Those dang Russians have apparently taken delivery of their first handful of SU-35S, this is apparently the 2nd serial numbered one: Definitely intimidating. AESA radar, glass cockpit, sustained supercruise and it sports the latest long range AA-12s. That said, if you add every example of every variant of plane that can be considered a "Super Flanker", the Russians only have 11 of them, including 3 SU-35S. Some sources say that the contract is for 48 to be delivered by 2015, but we'll see if that happens. More photos here.

The only reason Russia is even buying them is as tech demonstrators for airshows to do Cobras and poo poo and sell exports. The Flanker is an impressive plane in almost any situation. It's not their fault they've only been used to kill MiG-29s. Oldie but a goodie:

Apparently, newer iterations have improved the software that it actually has a higher Pk than the bigger gun. The various Blackbirds get a lot of pic thread time, for extremely understandable reasons, but I came across one not usually seen: The YF-12 interceptor prototype in mostly bare titanium instead of the black "iron balls" paint. Probably, if the plane had gone into squadron service, it would have looked more like this, in the heat-dissipating silver paint planned for the B-70 Valkyrie.
