The only reason Russia is even buying them is as tech demonstrators for airshows to do Cobras and poo poo and sell exports.

The Flanker is an impressive plane in almost any situation. It's not their fault they've only been used to kill MiG-29s.

Seriously, if you've never seen the F-22 demo live, fight the loving airshow crowd that day. It's ridiculous.

The people in charge do realize the Army and Marines often carry special sticks capable of sending projectiles further than 15 feet right?

The idiot responsible for that stick is no Curtis Culin.

Is it just the lack of airspeed/maneuverability?

It'll have a shorter range than anything capable of shooting back, it'll require a bunch of equipment to actually use (detection, launch, other integration gear) and each missile weighs as much as two Hellfires, so there goes your payload.

Inflatables and other mockups (wooden tanks, jeeps dressed up to look like tanks) go back at least as far as WWII and were used by just about everyone.

Right? poo poo's too blurry to me to ID the specific system, but uh.. Unless all this weed I'm high on is making me stupid it looked like it proximity fused, and it did not corkscrew. Though I'm admittedly high and watching on a phone screen. That's the epitome of not a good thing.

:stare:

Where are you even seeing a smoke trail from the missile? I see 18 launches, then camera work that shows nothing, then it cuts to a jet with an engine fire.

Okay thanks for that, I am specifically looking for pictures of marines with no bolts in their Garands. I have not had much look so far though.

Specifically Marines, or just a Garand w/no bolt? I can take out mine tomorrow if that's good enough, but I don't think you're going to find any kind of "action" shot with a visibly removed bolt. Even high school drill Garands have their bolts.

I think the bolt is in place in that picture...I think I can see the edge of it, but it could just be the ramp underneath. I can't remember exactly how far back it locks. And yes, that's an inspection as mentioned.

Edit: As I sit here and think about it, you won't find such a picture. Without the bolt, the mechanism won't function; it won't lock open.

It's actually a real FS2000 (civilian version of the FN2000), and as the story goes he saw a large group of 'youths' walking down the street. Thinking there might be some sort of riot or something, he flipped over his bed, slammed a STANAG magazine into said weapon, and then promptly broke the charging handle off somehow.

This actually makes it better.

There's no such thing. The nose kit suggests a laser-guided bomb, and it's got narrow tail fins. It's hard to get a sense of scale but it looks big. I'm guessing it's either a GBU 12, 16, or 10 (500 lb, 1000 lb, 2000 lb, respectively).
