I just switched from restaurant management as well with just the A+ to my resume. Plus, you know, years of restaurant management. 3 weeks into my desktop support job and every day is a joy compared to dealing with FOH and BOH. Weekends off and not working overtime alone is a massive boon even if I'm making a bit less money starting out. I managed to land myself in an org that is doing interesting poo poo and with tons of opportunity to touch a bit of almost everything.

The 2nd A+ test has a higher amount of intentionally vaguely worded questions in the troubleshooting sections that I felt and still feel are bullshit. I wouldn't worry too much about it though, if you passed 1 then 2 is definitely doable easily. I think I scored similarly on both but felt more confident going into the 2nd and did a little better and I think there's something to that, as some of the questions seem designed to make you 2nd guess your instinct.

I’m also doing the BS in CC from WGU, haven’t started the Cloud specific stuff yet as I’m about 30% into it ending my first term but overall from what I’ve done so far and can see what the courses ahead are like I expect it to be a pretty solid framework to build off of. And the degree will definitely pass HR checks. Passing Security+ by the end of February when my term ends is my current goal in fact, then I have Web Dev and Python courses ahead I believe.
