He also recorded a bunch of dialogue for the game Destiny 2 that hasn't been used yet, apparently.

Yeah, Ed O'Neill as Swearengen is pretty easy to imagine if you've ever seen him do drama. Reddick as Bubbs would be a very different character than Royo did.

Little thing the almighty algorithm sent my way. We all probably know the skit Reddick did with Eric Andre dressed as Kunte LaForge about how he wanted to be LeVar Burton?

Well...

I love the scene where he chews McNulty out for being obsessed with Stringer and insufficiently grateful to Daniels for getting him off that boat, but as soon as he's out of earshot the paternal aspect drops from his face and he's like "get me on that cell phone NOW"

I think that's what happens anyway, I might be conflating two scenes but it's the gist of what he's feeling

Stuff like that is why I don't completely share the opinion that his turn in season 5 is out of the blue; i think he's always had that selfish streak in him, it's just maybe heightened to a not completely earned degree with the serial killer plot

My favourite Lester scene is actually a very small moment. It's in season 2 where he sits with Daniels and lays down why they need to take the case of the trafficked women.

I just had to go check because I thought Dean Winters was also in an episode of The Wire but I was actually remembering him being in Oz

Ha! I did the same thing, but I think I was remembering him from Law & Order.

Clarke Peters is in True Detective and I definitely marked out when I saw him in it

Which season? The new one with Jodie Foster?

He not only came out a changed man, he got a role on the show

On a related note, it always amused me that the real Landsman is on the show, but has a fraction of the charisma of the actor playing him. Not a shock, being an actor isn't easy, but found it funny.

That had to be weird watching a character named after him have that conversation lol

As noted, he's the inspiration for both The Wire's version of Landsman and for Munch , at least in Homicide (I think it's arguable that Munch kind of changed a bit once he was paired with Ice T on SVU)
