Orange Devil posted:Spend 20 years locked up and then have women just throwing themselves at you before you judge Dennis. what Dennis and another consenting woman do are their own business. I was merely saying that, yes, there's a plot reason for showing off how much he loves women, it's part of his arc. The first time I watched the series I wasn't 100% what was happening, I thought he was accepting their gifts in a "well, I don't have a LOT of money, so I'll get a decent dinner tonight" way, it wasn't until Spider left that it clicked.

surf rock posted:People here are so wild for Poot; I thought there would be something this season to justify it but I guess it's just a meme. What I remember about Poot: awful name, wore lovely polo shirts, pushed Bodie over the edge to kill Wallace, sucked at running the pit, fled Bodie's death on the corner, worked at Footlocker. Terrible. Don't forget the other thing for Poot, getting lots of action with the ladies AND lots of trips to the clinic Also, I think you misread Poot's actions when Marlo has Bodie killed. Poot warns him that he's, effectively, a dead man and should either lay low or get the gently caress out of town, but Bodie refuses and says he will stand tall and continue operating as he has because he didn't do anything wrong. Poot stands with him and is prepared to fight as well, but Bodie tells him to leave because they both know it's only Bodie that's the target. The last we see of Poot (before his cameo in season 5) is him getting jacked up by McNulty and explaining that Bodie got got because someone saw him with a cop and thought he turned snitch. Poot tells McNulty to cuff him, harass him, beat him, whatever because McNulty's actions are getting people needlessly killed

We Own This City is the only time in my life I've had to pause watching something and go do something else for the rest of the day because it made me so angry. It was good tv, but the fact it was based on real things that happened just sent me into a fervor I wasn't prepared for

The thing that always gets me with Scott is when he goes to the Orioles game, he IS interviewing people. He could've written an article based on the interactions he had. He always seems so stuck on a specific type of story, and when the fieldwork leads somewhere else, he just makes everything up. At that point, why not just become an author instead of a journalist. Hell, Alex Jones and other grifters were already firmly planted at that time. It's not like the pipeline didn't exist, so why risk it?
