Holy poo poo this game shouldn't be played with a keyboard. I gave it yet another try at work and my left wrist hurts after playing. But it was all worth as I finally finished a stage! (Bright Man, just in case you were wondering) Anyway, some opinions I had while I was playing the stage. First of all, I really am thankful for the addition of infinite lives as this means I can finally have a chance at finishing the stages. In overall, stages are too long. There are some rooms and sections in levels which probably could be trimmed out without having the player miss too much of the experience. The disappearing block segments in overall would be a prime offender, there are too many of these in the level and once you figure out their gimmick, they aren't too hard to overcome. I just think it's the main problem with the game; you have some nice ideas but there are portions where you repeat them too much and then it becomes a bit tiring to go through them. Also, considering the much higher difficulty of the game, I think it could use some more checkpoints, or at least give the player the option to get more. For instance, I got to that green ball miniboss which is fought in that room with green and blue blocks. Before I figured out the gimmick behind the room, I died to it and I'm kicked way back in the level, to the point where it takes over 2 minutes to go back to the miniboss and try again. With that said, most of the setpieces you find in the game are fun to overcome. Bright Man's stage in particular had some pretty interesting and funny sections, I especially like how come he's watching over you or trying to impede on your progress constantly through the whole stage. It just makes it even more satisfying when you finally defeat him for good at the end of the stage, although I found he was a lot easier to defeat than his stage (I only died to him twice before I figured him out compared to the dozen billion lives I lost making my way to him). All in all, it's a little too hard to be fully enjoyable, but it's pretty creative and inventive and there's a lot of potential in there. Keep it up Dectilon!

STATE OF THE ART, HIGH RESOLUTION GRAPHICS? A FREE MEGA MAN STICKER? SIGN ME UP FOR STREET FIGHTER 2010: THE FINAL FIGHT!![]() WHAT'S WITH THIS GAME? Street Fighter 2010 is a NES game that was made and released by Capcom in 1990. The game was created as a spinoff of the arcade Street Fighter game that was made back in 1987... at least in America. The game, as it was released in Japan, had absolutely nothing to do with Street Fighter, as it depicted the story of a cyborg policeman named Kevin Striker who has to counter a dangerous viral epidemic that can turn people in fearsome beasts. But for some weird reason, the US localization team decided to base the events twenty years later in the Street Fighter universe and Kevin Striker became Ken, who for some reason decided to become a scientist after retiring from the Street Fighting tournaments. ![]() Yeah, that sounds fully believable. You really want this guy in a lab coat, wearing glasses and mixing solutions in a lab. All while keeping this stance. Either way, the game itself is a side-scroller game that really doesn't play like Street Fighter at all. You are thrown in many battle arenas around the galaxy and you must defeat a series of enemies or bosses in order to collect their energy in order to warp through the galaxy, tracking down the villain who killed your partner, Troy, and stole a dangerous chemical that can be used to no good. The 5 planets you will be visiting are pretty surrealistic and bizarre, you will be fighting all kind of robots, plants, and really bizarre looking creatures that defy categorization. The game is pretty drat hard mainly due to a few reasons. First of all, the controls can be quite tricky at first. There's nothing too intuitive with the controls at first and you'll be struggling at first to do many of the actions the game requires you to do, like clinging to a wall or ceiling, do a diagonal kick up in the air by pushing down and B, only being able to punch once in the air, and so on. Also, the many foes you'll fight in the game are very hard to deal with and require a lot of patience. Some levels later on will also require some neat acrobatic moves in order for you to stay alive. At least you aren't completely defenseless: there are powerups in almost every stage of the game that boost your attack power, which will allow you to punch enemies from really far away, but be careful; dying will make you lose all power you obtained. The game's courteous enough to give you infinite continues, so with enough perseverance, you will reach the end of this game. But just in case you don't have this perseverance, watch as I play through this game for Dectilon's thread. ![]() TABLE OF CONTENTS Planet 1 - Cityscape Planet Planet 2 - Green, Green and More Green Plants Planet 3 - Planet Sanddune (yeah, really!) Simply Simon posted:Wow, I clicked on the AVGN review you mention like half an hour ago because YT recommended it to me. Seeing the cover here again kinda made me start a little, haha. As for character movement, it's all handled really well. Your character doesn't slip around, you can alter the direction of your jump whenever you want and the game's responsive. The only tricky thing with the controls comes from stuff like doing the diagonal kick and being able to only punch once when you're in the air.

STREET FIGHTER 2010 UPDATE Time for Ken to continue his fan fiction adventures on another planet. This one might be of interest for scientists, as it's full of lush foliage, carnivorous plants, bottle cap parrots that want you dead and many other dreadful hazards. Since Ken is one masochistic scientist that is apparently a cyborg, he's all okay with this! ![]() Okay, maybe not. Planet 2

Breetai posted:Do it, psych. The author must have had the entire intro box whenever you start a new save game to be entirely written in Quebec French. Since it's named Super Mario Tabarnak (tabarnak is a generic swear word here in Quebec for those not in the know), I expect its author to know their subject well enough and provide very serious work on their Mario romhack. If not, it's no go! EDIT: Whew, looks like I'm in the clear! Psychedelic Eyeball fucked around with this message at 20:40 on Jan 17, 2013 |

STREET FIGHTER 2010 UPDATE Welcome to the planet that has the most generic name you've ever seen! Things are certainly not going to get stale in terms of gameplay, though. This is the point where the developers turn the crazyness and difficulty crank up by many notches! Scorpions, worms and sand fishes will wish you welcome with their sharp teeth, tail or whatever you want them to use to murder you. ![]() Planet 3

STREET FIGHTER 2010 UPDATE Our search for whatever we are hunting is narrowing down more and more, as there are only 2 planets left in the entire galaxy! It's also a water world, and while Ken handles water really well, the designers made sure to use all of the tropes of water levels to a science (at least in one level of the episode). Still, this world is kind of a relief after the hard and lengthy desert world, as it's shorter and easier than it. ![]() Planet 4

STREET FIGHTER 2010: THE FINAL FIGHT UPDATE It's time for our ![]() On a spinning top shaped station lies the final world of the game. The developers certainly wished for you to suffer while you're playing this world. Like Planet 4, there are only 3 levels here, but each of them represents a sizable challenge. Finally, the last level of the game is one of the most unforgiving, brutal stages ever found in a game. How about going through an expansive boss rush battle, with one health bar, a time limit and no checkpoints at all sound to you? If you answered "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH OH NO!", well you are correct. But it's about time to prove you can indeed beat the game's final challenge. Thanks for watching and make sure you watch the other stuff people are posting in the thread! It's all great stuff so far. ![]() ![]() Planet 5

While Down The Tubes itself isn't too hard, the second stage of it (called Tube Race) is a nightmare and one of the reasons why I don't want to replay this game (Another one is coming up in quite a while).
