I think lightness has to come from a very deep place if it's true lightness.
If you're a roguelike fan, you should go and check out Cardinal Quest 2, which got a global release yesterday. It's got a nice combination of smooth, streamlined gameplay & class/skill depth. Controls are Fargoal-esque. It's free, with optional & extremely gentle soft currency IAP. I work for the publisher, but this is only game I've repped on SA, since I genuinely believe y'all will like it.

I think lightness has to come from a very deep place if it's true lightness.
It's definitely got fewer 'systems' than Agricola, which makes it both easier to digest & present on a phone/tablet screen. If you're ever played Caylus, it's a very similar game.
