Allan Assiduity posted:In many respects, it seems to have understood the crashing issue and dealt with it appropriately. People giving it one-star reviews for crashing don't address the fact that in combat, you are back at the beginning of your turn and the text-based cutscenes are speedy and are mostly can be skipped. From an iPhone 4s, it controls fairly well as well. Well, dealing with it appropriately would involve figuring out why the crashes occur and fixing them, but credit is due for implementing a frustration-minimizing workaround.

It's too bad Critter Crunch was removed from the App Store. It's the game Capybara made before Clash of Heroes, and its gameplay is nearly identical to Clash of Heroes' battles, but it was made specifically for the platform instead of sloppily ported and it didn't have all the extraneous fluff that gets in the way of the battles.

I haven't played it in a while but I remember liking it a lot. It's aimed at kids so it's obviously less complex and punishing than your average roguelike, but it's pretty fun. It's very similar to Shiren the Wanderer.

Bigass Moth posted:What are the currently recommended free games, especially RPGs? I just got an iphone. If you're into racing games, I've been playing the absolute poo poo out of Real Racing 3. I balked at it for a while because I heard the freemium stuff was extremely onerous, but once I actually tried it out it wasn't nearly as bad as I was led to believe. There are some timers for delivering/repairing/upgrading cars that require premium currency to bypass, but as long as you're not bent on playing it for an hour or more at a stretch you'll never need to spend money. I've put about 20 hours into it so far without spending a cent, and I'm having a blast.

I can't believe that Apple allows them to do that because it's really turning me off. For a while they really tricked me into thinking they had an actual uniform cross-device platform going on. Fortunately this kind of thing seems to have mostly fallen out of favor; it's been a while since I saw a new cross-platform game release that wasn't universal.
