langurmonkey posted:If you like chilled out puzzle games, then there is new game called "Hundreds" that I got last night and played a bit in bed when I should have been sleeping. The concept is simple - circles move around on the screen and you tap them to inflate them with points. You want to get 100 points in total. The catch is that if they touch while you are growing one then it's game over. Of course other gimmicks get added in quickly, like circles being attached together with ropes, circles that you can "pause" and super speed circles. Thanks for this, everyone should buy it now.

The plot is the same for everyone, you will start and end the journey at the same places, and hit the same major events through the story. Everyone's personal narrative will be different though, and your version of a scene may vary greatly from my version of the same scene.

TACD posted:Verdict: Ugh, don't get this. It looks like it should be a sort of satisfying, connect-the-stations-together and manage the trains kind of game, but it's something weirdly different and not-fun. It's achingly slow, difficult to draw tracks where you want them, and most frustratingly it will send trains out of stations just as another one is about to go in, and there's not a lot you can do to prevent crashes. I mean, I get that that's supposed to be the game but unless you're expected to fill every bizarrely-long level with a fugly mess of track all over the screen there's not much fun in jamming a train awkwardly between two switches until the game stops throwing other trains down the same piece of single track towards you. It looks like Railroad Story, which I bought a while back and had some fun with. http://appshopper.com/games/railroad-story-hd

Fortunately there are plenty of other games that the IAP mechanic doesn't detract from my fun.

I played a game that was interesting - Krashlander - in interesting combination keeping your skier upright and then at the end knocking down all the zombies. Sure, it combines a a few tropes (Angry Birds, Zombies, Ski Safari) - but the controls are interesting, and the complexity/challenge of the game set's it apart. And the art style is minimalist, high-def cool. For a buck it's totally worth it. I just read TA's review of RR3 - ha, what a load of crap. I should have known when I saw Brad's byline not to expect much.

I bought Real Racing 3 from the NZ store when it came out - and It's been ok. Now I want to install the US version - which means I have to delete the app on my iPad now. Using iFunbox, do I just grab the documents folder from Real Racing 3 before I delete the app? Then replace it? What are you doing Feenix? edit: Yes this works. porktree fucked around with this message at 22:30 on Feb 28, 2013 |

Been playing Jones on Fire, and have a couple of questions, first where do I buy the hats? The first play through of this game was meh, interesting, then I noticed I'd been playing for an hour, I'm hooked, got my cat doubler on and living large. I do notice that while it's butter smooth on my iphone 5, there's some kind of framerate thing going on with my iPad 3, it works, but it's hard on my eyes. Also, I've blown about 20 GK accidentally continuing instead of not continuing. Good work on this game, I've got everyone here at work hooked.

Also - if it comes up, being rotation aware is always a good thing. I'm not even talking horizontal vs vertical, I just want to be able to play with the volume buttons on the top. And since I'm whining - after the first few levels I wish it'd stop building my vehicle for me, I replace and move the struts and wheels - stop making me work so hard! Sometimes I think I should be able to group move things - but I don't see how that'd work with the interface. Sooo, $2 well spent - I hope this does well, it's a lot of fun.
