If you like chilled out puzzle games, then there is new game called "Hundreds" that I got last night and played a bit in bed when I should have been sleeping. The concept is simple - circles move around on the screen and you tap them to inflate them with points. You want to get 100 points in total. The catch is that if they touch while you are growing one then it's game over. Of course other gimmicks get added in quickly, like circles being attached together with ropes, circles that you can "pause" and super speed circles.

The art style is really minimalist and the soundtrack is very relaxing. It's quite nice to just mindlessly tap on circles for a few minutes, although I did find myself raging when I died on a score of 99 :).

I think there is a launch discount, here is the app store link.

Thanks for this, everyone should buy it now.

The Walking Dead is a great example of the difference between plot and narrative, which people sometimes confuse. The plot is the same for everyone, you will start and end the journey at the same places, and hit the same major events through the story. Everyone's personal narrative will be different though, and your version of a scene may vary greatly from my version of the same scene.

Verdict: Ugh, don't get this. It looks like it should be a sort of satisfying, connect-the-stations-together and manage the trains kind of game, but it's something weirdly different and not-fun. It's achingly slow, difficult to draw tracks where you want them, and most frustratingly it will send trains out of stations just as another one is about to go in, and there's not a lot you can do to prevent crashes. I mean, I get that that's supposed to be the game but unless you're expected to fill every bizarrely-long level with a fugly mess of track all over the screen there's not much fun in jamming a train awkwardly between two switches until the game stops throwing other trains down the same piece of single track towards you.

It looks like Railroad Story, which I bought a while back and had some fun with. http://appshopper.com/games/railroad-story-hd

Not really, just an endless stream of coinage. I would happily pay :10bucks: for timer elimination, as it is it's pretty much race, repair, wait. It could have been fun, but instead its just a poorly designed IAP cash grab.

Touche.

It's to bad for me. I like racing games, but after playing RR3 on and off today I realize that the presentation of the games IAP is obtrusive for me and not everyone. Fortunately there are plenty of other games that the IAP mechanic doesn't detract from my fun.

I played a game that was interesting - Krashlander - in interesting combination keeping your skier upright and then at the end knocking down all the zombies. Sure, it combines a a few tropes (Angry Birds, Zombies, Ski Safari) - but the controls are interesting, and the complexity/challenge of the game set's it apart. And the art style is minimalist, high-def cool. For a buck it's totally worth it.

I just read TA's review of RR3 - ha, what a load of crap. I should have known when I saw Brad's byline not to expect much.

Ok, Legit Real Racing 3 talk:

1) I have an iPad 3. I find the "performance" of the game (read: Framerate) to be, oh, just a hair south of acceptable. It stutters a lot.

2) This is definitely made LESS acceptable, when you compare it to your experiences on an iPhone 5 (almost never hitches, very rock solid.)
I'm re-evaluating my opinion, the instant repairs, and reduced maintenance time let me play as long as I'd like. I've picked up some other cars and am at 50% on Pure Stock, and with the new balance I can see this being fun again.

It totally runs ragged on my iPad 3 - stuttering, and hitching. And not just when I get a notification. I like the Time Shifted Multiplayer - much better than AI that follows a racing line no matter what.

Using iFunbox, do I just grab the documents folder from Real Racing 3 before I delete the app? Then replace it? What are you doing Feenix?

Yes. You can hit the corners faster, use the cars rwd/fwd for more effect in gaining speed out of the corners and use braking to weight shift the car for more manueverability.

After playung for a while my miain complaint is the choppieness and stuttering on my ipad3. I have a half dozen cars and once I got three the timers lost their annoyingness because I could just switch cars and keep racing. It does feel lije they're pretty chintzy with $R.

Been playing Jones on Fire, and have a couple of questions, first where do I buy the hats?

The first play through of this game was meh, interesting, then I noticed I'd been playing for an hour, I'm hooked, got my cat doubler on and living large. I do notice that while it's butter smooth on my iphone 5, there's some kind of framerate thing going on with my iPad 3, it works, but it's hard on my eyes. Also, :argh: I've blown about 20 GK accidentally continuing instead of not continuing.

If you are within site of this forum please be away for two tech issues:
1. This game was not made or tested with iPad 1 but a recent change in Apple land meant that iPad 1 users can buy the game. Please avoid.
2. The game is a bit resource intensive. If you find it kicking you out try rebooting the device and running without other apps in the background.
Thanks - I did not figure that out about linked things.

I'm on an ipad 3, latest iOS - I beat the Baron (1-11) and started 12 after one 'run' on 12 the game crashed, I restarted the game and was back to 1-11; as soon as I try and start that the game crashes. I've rebooted my ipad twice.

Edit: If I go to a different level it plays fine - it crashes only and every time I try 1-11.
