Infinite ammo vs. CYBER PUNCH!!
Part 23: The Littlest Magician

Let's look at our two new supports.

If we need fire damage, Princess Summer's got her Blaze Edge.

Rein's Storm Dance costs one more battery point, does more hits, and is wind-elemental.

His full attack cuts a Z through the enemies. Check out that Swordian/sword dual-wielding.

There are a few ways to go from here, and one of them is...

A magic circle! Looks promising.

Gero...? Nothing's happening.

What's up with this thing?!

Dororo, could you stand right here for me?

Will this do?

Keroro shoves Dororo onto the magic circle.

You're so mean, Kerorooo!

He spins faster and faster, until he flies up...

...Straight into the ceiling.

Whew... that was a close one.

I think this one's broken, Commander.

You think so? No wonder it seemed so suspicious.

Dororo ninja-reappears.

Keroro, how could you...

Well, let's press on!

Sergeant Keroro: childhood best friend material.

In this chest, we find a tower-appropriate treasure, the Chrome Demon Sword.

This gives us the Gilgamesh support, straight from the game Tower of Druaga. Gil shows up as a support character in Tales of Hearts as well, and his equipment is obtainable in several other Tales games.

When summoned, Gil slashes in front for non-elemental damage.

Then he charges up...

...And stabs through anything in his way.

Another level gets Kururu one of his few non-magical offensive Artes, Energy Ball. Unlike most of his Artes, he needs to be close to the enemy to use it to the fullest. We'll see it later.

The further up the tower we go, the more floating platforms we find. Getting on the wrong one usually means going all the way back around the room to start over, but it's not too punishing.

This chest gives us another Sage's Stone to add to the pile of party-healing items.

How do you get lost in a tower? You don't. You go up, until you can't.

A Best Herb. More healing items to face the magician with.

Nearly all the platforms that don't involve dungeon progression lead to good things.

Like this Miracle Orb. This place is really handing out the heals and revives close to the top.

Speaking of avoiding progression, here's the Magician's Tower Keparrow list:
-Defense Berry
-Magnifying Glass
-Stone Heal

So it seems like everything good was in the chests.

A magic circle! Must be getting close to the end.

We don't have to throw Dororo at this one to see if it works.

It pops us out at the top of the tower. Going right immediately is advised, as it only takes a few steps upward to start the next wave of cutscenes.

:siren:VIDEO: Magical Mimicry:siren: (Covers the rest of the update!)

I come here worried about my little sister, and you give me sass?!

Ilinx is right, Mimicry! Apologize to her this instant!

Heheh. I'm in a totally different league than you two idiots. You should stop treating me like a little kid.

After all, which one of us three do you think has the most magic power?

Mimicry completes the trio of girls we've been running into since the start of the adventure. Turns out they're sisters--who knew? v:v:v Mimicry is dressed as Valkyrie from Valkyrie no Densetsu. She's even got a Sandra plushie.

What was that? Do I have to shut your rude little mouth for you?!

Heheh! What makes you so sure you'll be able to do... THAT!

Ohhh-hohoho! Learn how to aim, you little twerp!

Ohhh myyy!

You'd probably die if you got hit by my awesome magic, you know. So you just get pitfalls. Bye-bee! Now then...

With those two out of the way, I can fight you guys next!

Those girls you just spoke with, and that bracelet...

He means this bracelet, of course:

So the magician trying to get the Legendary Sword was in league with them, after all.

Don't lump me in with those dummies.

Heheh! Well, I can just show you how much better I am than them, anyway.

We fought and defeated the other two before.

You sure got a lotta pride for bein' their little sister.

Actually, it looks like she's a lot more powerful than them. Better not let your guard down around this one, Commander.

Heheh! I'll prove to you just how strong I really am!

You might not want to agree with Mimicry, but I believe Kururu and his infinite-batteries laptop. On Hard difficulty, Mimicry has 52,000 HP.

Her main attack is to spiral upward...

...And pile-drive back down.

It's pretty easy to get hit by the downward attack if you get hit by the upward spiral first.

Mimicry is weak to wind, so Rein is good to use here.

Stand too close to the center of Mimicry's attack, and she'll juggle you all the way up,

then slam you back down, usually unconscious.

Sometimes after the initial upward attack, she just floats back down.

Combo-ing her to the floor is the best way to get in some free hits.

Because otherwise she'll just do this, over and over.

Also, she filled her plushie with bricks.

Keroro's had enough.

He keeps Mimicry distracted during Kururu's long cast time for Saint Resurrect.

This is the first time Kururu's actually cast it on anyone, but a close-range boss like Mimicry actually allows for the cast time and safe distance needed.

Keroro gets tired of plinking away at Mimicry's huge HP reservoir, and makes a terrifying discovery. (I just wanted some breathing room, honest!)

Of course, all of Mimicry's attacks are blockable.

The trouble is when she does it over and over without a break.

This is the only time Rein gets to be cool for the entire game (and that's just his spiritual imprint).

Notice how Keroro's getting hit, and not dying. That's because his Gato Gelgoog's Survive Skill keeps him standing with 1 HP left, no matter how many attacks he takes, as long as he keeps guarding. That gives Kururu time to cast Saint Heal on him.

Tamama prepares to avenge his own death, but Keroro gets in the last hit.

I don't believe this! Why? Why did I lose?!

You lost this fight, because you fought it alone. No matter how strong someone is, they cannot win every battle by themselves.

That's right! Together, we're invincible!

GOT THAT, YA STUPID PUNK?! EAT IT!

You couldn't win against the Keroro Platoon in a million years, short stuff!

Grr...! DON'T CALL ME SHORT!

The thoroughly burned little girl jumps away from the platoon.

Wait!

What were you three planning to do with the Legendary Armaments, anyway?!

You may have beaten me, but I'm not dumb enough to give away information like that!

I'm not tellin' you diddly-squat! So THERE! 'Kay, bye-bee!

She jumps across the railing,

and escapes through the magic circle.

She doesn't get along with the other two girls, but she runs away just as quickly.

Rein and Princess Summer arrive on the scene.

Whew, we finally caught up! ...Wait, what? Did you defeat the magician already?

That shrimpy magician was nothing compared to the mighty Keroro Platoon!

Hmm? Well then, let's head for the bottom of the tower.

She's awfully chill about this.

One scene transition later, the party is walking through the desert away from the tower. After a short while, Tamama looks around and says,

Since we beat the magician, the sandstorm went away!

SKREE!

Oh? That sounds like...

Gero! Miss Godbird! You came to pick us up?

Guess it's time to say goodbye. Here's the Legendary Sword, as promised.

Got one of the 3 Legendary Armaments, Excalibur!

You now have all 3 Legendary Armaments!

:woop:

"Goodbye?" But we can't just leave you both in the middle of the desert...

Then let's all ride the Godbird together! We can just swing by Royal City, and...

It's all right. We don't want to trouble you any further. Besides, now that the sandstorm's gone, crossing back over the desert shouldn't be an issue.

Right. Just focus on continuing your own journey.

Thanks, everyone. To be honest, I was a little worried.

Even after gathering a volunteer army, I wasn't sure I'd be able to defeat the magician.

But I'm really happy you came along with me... thank you.

Princess Summer...

Okay, no more long faces! If you ever need help, you can come visit me anytime.

You saved my kingdom, so you'll be welcomed as heroes!

Heroes?! Heck yeah! We'll totally come and visit!

Good luck, everyone!

Miss Summer, Master Rein! I'm glad we got to meet you both!

SKREE!

I'll never forget you guys!

There they go... Looks like it's just you and me for a good while.

Er...

Getting to escort the princess all the way back to the castle is a dream come true for a royal knight, isn't it? So guard me well. Now, let's go!

Yes, your Highness! As you wish!

Artes/Skills learned this update:

Kururu
Energy Ball: Kururu generates energy balls around himself like an atom-particle shield, doing non-elemental damage to anything that gets too close. The energy ball is part of the platoon's first team attack from the manga and both anime adaptations.

Next time, our heroes take a breather and do a little reminiscing.

Mimicry: Imitation as play. Playing house when you were little was mimicry. So was cops and robbers. It's all about roleplaying.

Despite apparently having ALL THE MAGIC to sling at her foes, Mimicry just does the umbrella dive and plushie smash. She uses the closed umbrella like a spear on the rising and diving parts, but opens it at the top of the rising part--right before she dives with it closed, or fakes you out by floating harmlessly down.

Part 24: Full Circle

Last time, the Keroro Platoon took to the skies on a swanky yellow bird.

Gero! What a lovely view you have from up here, Miss Godbird!

Ah! I just had a great idea!

What is it, Sarge?

While we're up here, why don't we go around and see all the places we've been to?

Wow, Sarge! That's a real nice idea!

Hold it! This is no time to take the scenic route!

While we're slacking off, Natsumi could be in serious trouble back in our world...

No worries! Miss Natsumi wouldn't let some piddly little monsters get the best of her.

Well... you've got a point, but...

Besides, it's RPG tradition to revisit the places you went to along the way before heading for the last boss.

Easy on the fourth wall, Sergeant.

So to start with, we're off to Royal City!

Here we are at Royal City!

It looks so small from way up here...

ALL THE PEOPLE LOOK LIKE TINY LITTLE DUST SPECKS!

Yes, Tamama. We all know you live with the 1% of the 1% back on Earth.

It looks like Princess Summer hasn't returned yet. I hope they can get back safely...

The princess has Rein traveling with her. I'm sure they'll make it back to Royal City, safe and sound.

Hmph... I suppose so. He'd risk his life to protect her.

...Princess Summer...

A moment of solemn silence.

...Jeez, adults can be such total downers, man.

But Sarge, aren't you the same age as Giroro and Dororo?

Huh?! Well, I'm like, y'know...

I've got the body of an adult, but the heart of a child! Yes sir!

That's not really a good thing...

Anyways! I wonder where we should go next?

I wanna go to Mermaid Cove and see Momocchi!

Sounds good to me.

Then we're off to Mermaid Cove! Yes sir!

Yaaay!

But before that, let's go visit Miss Moanne's caravan.

NWAAARGH! drat THAT WOMAAAN! SHE'S CLINGING TO MY SARGE'S PUNY BRAIN CELLS! I HATE HER! SHE MAKES ME SO JEALOUS!

Tamama... did I just hear you rattle off some of the harshest lines ever?

Nope! You're imagining things, Sarge. Let's go to our next destination!

Ge... gero...

Who's the real last boss here?

Huh? I thought the caravan would be right around here...

Moanne and her people are a tribe of nomads. Instead of settling in one place, they travel across the land.

Gero? Is that so? I guess that's too bad.

TAKE THAT, YOU DIRTY SARGE-STEALER! VICTORY IS MINE!

I wonder what on Earth Private Tamama could have won?

C'mon, Sarge! Now let's go to Mermaid Cove!

We've reached Mermaid Cove!

But the mermaid village is underwater. We can't see it from here.

Aw, that stinks...

Hey! Isn't that Momocchi down there?!

She appears to be singing.

Ge... gero... She's not gonna sink another ship with her mermaid voice, is she...?

I don't see any ships in the area. There's no need to worry about that now.

Even if one did get close, she sinks every single ship that comes her way.

Now that's some demonic singing.

Don't say that! The mermaids have such pretty singing voices, they purify the hearts of anyone listening!

SKREE!

See! The Godbird likes it, too!

But... their singing wasn't able to purify your jealousy...

Hm? Did you say something, Sarge?

Your staring's making me feel all self-conscious!

Why don't we just head for the next place...

I think this was where we met Miss Moanna.

drat THAT WOMAN! HOW DARE SHE STEAL MY SARGE'S ATTENTION WITH HER BOSSY-BUT-NICE ACT! THAT'S THE CHEAPEST OF CHEAP SHOTS!

Miss Moanna really helped us out, but we owe a lot to the good Captain, as well.

That's right. You don't find a lot of men as big-hearted and good-natured as him.

I seriously thought I was gonna die that time he chained us together and threw us into the sea... I'd like a much less horrible way to go up the falls next time...

Kuuu-kukukuku...

Well Commander, if the opportunity ever comes up, I'll handle it in a safe and stimulating fashion. So don't you worry 'bout a thing.

S-stimulating... Just what the heck are you planning to do, anyway...?

You'll just have to wait and see, won't you? Kuuu-kukukuku...

I can't not worry when you put it like that. I just know something bad's gonna happen...

Let's stop by Whitesnow Village next.

As we near our destination, the lights dim down and the voice-acting kicks in.

VIDEO: Prelude To the Conclusion

With all 3 Legendary Armaments in hand, Keroro and his party strike out for the Dark Lord's castle.

As they fly cross the heavens to the final battle with the Dark Lord, their profiles exude a powerful determination the likes of which have never been seen!

When this is all over, I'm gonna get married...

The lights come up again.

Woah, wait a minute! What kinda line is that?! That's something a side character says in an anime or a movie right before he dies in the last battle! That's what we call...

...A death flag! Don't get so carried away, Mister Narrator!

Sorry about that. The final fight's coming up, and I got a little excited...

Once we beat the Dark Lord, we can finally return to our world!

He is bound to be a challenging opponent, however.

I can clobber a guy like him any day of the week.

But I could rock 'em sock 'em, easy-peasy!

But then I'd do this super awesome move like, slice-slice-slice! ...POW!

Would you quit jumping around?! There's hardly enough room for us as it is! Have you got a death wish?!

Suddenly, the wind blows!

Gero?!

I TOLD YOU SO!

KERORO, HOW COULD YOUUU...

WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!

Dammit...!

Only Kururu could jump off a giant bird hundreds of feet in the air, and sulk all the way down.

Later, on the ground...

Nnngh...

Gero...

This is all your fault for jumping around like a jackass. I told you to be careful!

Nobody got hurt, so what's the big deal?!

Now now, calm down, you two...

You shouldn't have an argument right before the final battle.

Kukuku... all right. I've located our current position.

Giroro walks up to look at the map on Kururu's laptop.

We're still a long way from the Dark Lord's castle!

That's why it's all the more important to stop fighting, and make our way there as soon as possible.

Dororo's right! Let's go to the Dark Lord's castle!

Fortunately, Keroro and co. dropped themselves off right in front of the bridge from Part 8. Only this time, we can actually cross it, and reach Agon's castle in no time flat.

Naturally, I forgo it in favor of extra scenes.

Everyone in the Fishing Village is still grateful to the platoon for beating up the bandits that stole all their food.

And now they have KeroCard machines!

Time to spend all my Gold on--woah woah woah.

That's the bandit boss we beat up.

You guys again...! Wh-whaddya want? Ain't ya done with me? I turned over a new leaf, and now I work as a fisherman here. So don't bother me!

Put pants on, you grosso.

KeroCard time!

Sergeant Keroro 1

Striking the standard pose!

Musha Keroro 1

Wearing armor will make you feel like a mighty warrior.

The village elder who unknowingly sent Keroro and his platoon to their near-deaths in a tiny fishing boat seems to be having some back problems. He needs a medicine that requires 7 Dark Fangs, 3 Venom Stingers, and 4 Snake Skins.

We have tons of those, so we give him the ingredients right away. He makes the medicine, and one minute later...

...It's like he's 50 years younger. His back has never felt better.

He gives us a Zaku I for our trouble.

It's an early mass-produced Mobile Suit that was quickly obsoleted by the Zaku II.

Its stats are completely unimpressive, but it has two unique Guardian Skills. D-One All makes every attack against enemies do 1 damage, while Guilty decreases all stats by 30%, and gives you Bad luck.

The Zaku I is one of two Guardians with the D-One All Skill, and the only one dropped by monsters. Guilty's a terrible Skill period, but D-One All is useful for earning the combo Codenames regardless of character level or difficulty setting.

Dororo wanted to visit Whitesnow Village, so here we are.

When we last left this place, it was a smoldering ruin.

You came to visit me!

Take a good look. We've completely rebuilt the village!

Well done, indeed. This was the result of cooperation.

If we all work together, we become a power much greater than one trying to work alone...

That's right. I couldn't agree more.

Well then, Oyuki, will you be returning to your village?

I don't intend to return just yet. I want to stay here and help out a little longer.

Is that so? Then you have my support.

Thank you! Good luck to you and your friends too, Dororo!

Our reward for this side trip is a heartwarming moment between Ninja Girl and Doro-dad. :unsmith:

That, and another card machine to raid, though I didn't get anything new out of it.

The closest place to the Dark Lord's castle is the Hinata House, where this whole adventure started.

With the 3 Legendary Armaments gathered, there's only one thing left to do. For now, the Keroro Platoon takes a short rest.

Next time, it's the end.
