Hi everyone! I am currently working on a personal project that I obviously don't want to go into much detail about (goons!) I would like to hire someone to make me some illustrations for a basic presentation. I am interested in over-the-top 80's stereotypes, preferably cel-shaded. Something not TOO cartoony, but fun, nostalgic, and infinitely obvious. Most of you are probably too young to remember the 80's, but I hope some of you can recall rat-tails and roller-skates, and metal lunchboxes. I'm cheating a bit and mixing the entire decade for more possibilities, (maybe some later misremembered 90's, and you can TOO). Any accessories should be really bright and obvious. Colors will play a huge part. In Tales of Vesperia, you can really see the accessories and clothing changes. I'm aiming for something in between this, and Jet-Set Radio, with a little more Americana than Japanese art. Remember, this is set in the most boring 80's suburbs in the middle of nowhere. These are the best possibilities I can come up with for the 80's suburbs: Some options for illustrations: (HAVE FUN) *Skinny Nerd Guy with glasses, pocket protector and commodore 64 (looks smart, not TOO dorky) #1 most important dude *Slightly short chubby, Hispanic nerd outcast (rock band t-shirt, cut-off jeans, sneakers, hideous grandma sweater - unfastened, gold cross, baseball cap) #2 dude *Hippy Stoner *Preppy CHeerleader Girl *Ridiculous neighborhood watch guy *Punk Rock Girl/Goth Girl **80's Powersuit Businessman *The Skinny Nerd's fattish, obnoxious nut loving mom *Madonna fetishist girl *Hip-Hop Dude (has to be funnier than racist, obviously) Like the idea of walkmans ->shoulder boomboxes proggression *Black girl still sporting an afro *Bully Jock Sports Guy *Weirdo Gun-Nut Militia guy with camo and fallout shelter kinda poo poo *80's (mad?) SCIENTIST *A Really Old Man with a 4-point walker with tennis balls at the bottom *David Bowie kind of Guy-Liner dude *Complete weirdo nonsensical homeless guy *A Nurse, complete with giant needle and classy/sexy outfit *A Relatively Normal closet Band/Choir geek girl *Preppy Housewife *Basic Alien but TRIPEDAL, all aliens will have at least 3 sides. (old Sci-Fi standby actually, but not used much lately) If ANY of this sounds interesting to you, send me a PM and we can discuss details. The important things are fun and nostalgia. I don't need animations right now, just creative cel-shaded 80's freaks. Preferably around 2 portions wide by 3 portions tall. Pixels are fine for examples, but final products should be Illustrator. I have plenty of funding, I just need art for my presentations and I draw like a 5-year old. Please PM with portfolios or samples, and I'm still unclear on the rules for posting here vs. SA-Mart, so please forgive me if I messed it up. I can pay well upfront once I find a great artist. I need 5 or 6 for starters, but more never hurt. I'll pay for any, once they are well-done, and a big bonus if you can do lots for me. Will post in SA-MART if it's more appropriate?
