I just got the juiciest council reward- it was something like $400 for 3 laser pistols. Playing on classic & this has boosted my sat coverage at such a key time. I feel a bit too lucky as this will make next month easy due to all the extra funding

I just beat the bomb disposal trainyard map with 0 deaths on classic difficulty. Feeling pretty smug right now, considering the first time I did that map on normal (also a bomb disposal) I squad wiped. I still cant believe that literally 6 thinmints air drop in once the bomb is disabled.

There needs to be an onslaught mode where you setup a defending position against unlimited waves. Rewards for holding out long enough, before you basically have to make a run for it. Might spice up the late game

I dont get the rooftop love. Its 90% half cover, Chris can jump up or down and hug your face, as can any alien really.

Beagle has a boatload more experience than me on Impossible, but sometimes I feel he's overly cautious. Often he wont take 50 or 65% shots because a miss would mean the solider is vulnerable, but hard cover is hard cover. Take the shot, and use overwatch just a bit more instead of hunker down.

Anyway he's drat enjoyable to watch, and explains his actions thoroughly.

Honestly dont ever attempt Ironman. Just use the honor system with a single save, you are an adult. Reload on an obnoxious teleport or when everything activates at once.

I love the Toolboks tweak "Revealed aliens only move after xcom turn". Turns XCOM into XCOM:SWAT. You can breach through doors and take down an entire group of tangos. It does become a bit too easy sometimes though

Battlescanner is useful when it works, but its *really* sensitive to the vertical plane. I think yours has ended up below ground by a pixel

1. Improved pistols carry over to laser pistols, so they are very viable for your sniper to move and shoot or when you run out of ammo & must take a shot.

2. Unfortunately thats just what you have to do, continually swap stuff around. We're all collectively wishing for equipment profiles

One of fast food joints, or dvd stores has that funk music playing on their intercom, so if you aim at an alien and get zoomed in enough, the volume will crank.

You can hear it softly if you move your view close enough

Once your snipers get a plasma pistol they can run and shoot a decent amount of damage, assuming you've also got the foundry pistol upgrades.

Do the enemies need to teleport patrol at all? Just spawn them at a few of a dozen possible locations.

At least pin them down if your guys do the 'sshh! what was that?' because I just spend about 5 turns setting up the best kick-down-three-doors ambush, only to have them teleport behind me into previously uncovered map space.
