In 999 you should avoid getting Safe until you have at least, say, two other endings because it'll ruin a lot of the dramatic tension in the rest of the endings. I got the Safe end on my first try (I'm loving AWESOME at VNs) and still felt all that delicious dramatic tension the rest of the game.

), but that's only an issue for games I played in arcades growing up. DOA was always a console game for me, so I'm fine with gamepad controls in this case. Same thing with Tekken really, since I never played that series in the arcade much... might go for that too if DOA really gets its hooks in me.
