I loved how before the first or second system patch, the 3d thing on the top screen had no limit to how much it would spin. On the bus, the models would be in a constant state of spinning so fast you couldnt see what it was.

Admiral H. Curtiss posted:Guys, guys, you're talking about two different games. In VLR you can just do whatever in terms of endings due to how the flowchart works. In 999 you should avoid getting Safe until you have at least, say, two other endings because it'll ruin a lot of the dramatic tension in the rest of the endings. I got the Safe end on my first try (I'm loving AWESOME at VNs) and still felt all that delicious dramatic tension the rest of the game.

I am trying to decide between Donkey Kong and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon and just found out the reviewers absolutely slammed the latter one. I only played the demo so far but I guess I'd have to agree (plus Mystery Dungeon games tend to show up in bargain bins quickly), but at the same time I skipped DKCR on the Wii. I'm waiting for reviews obviously but to the people who played it, can I assume I'll like it based on liking the 3 SNES games? DKCR is awesome. Get it.

Tekken 3D Prime is the movie and the full Tekken 6. I havent played it myself, but from what I read it plays exactly the same and runs at 60fps even in 3D. It of course doesnt look nearly as good and it doesnt have much in the way of singleplayer stuff, but considering that it's for all intents arcade-perfect Tekken 6 that's not bad.

Minidust posted:Going back a bit but thanks for the advice on fighting games. I'll definitely get DOA Dimensions. Sure, I sperg out about fighter controls enough to order a custom stick (since you can't get pro circle gates anywhere ), but that's only an issue for games I played in arcades growing up. DOA was always a console game for me, so I'm fine with gamepad controls in this case. Same thing with Tekken really, since I never played that series in the arcade much... might go for that too if DOA really gets its hooks in me. If you dont mind going back to old DS games or paying a bunch for importing, Jump Ultimate Stars is a great fighter that was actually designed with the DS in mind. The fighting itself is a lot like Smash, except Shonen Jump. The uniqueness comes from its use of the touchscreen. You arrange various comic panels you unlock through the mission mode which are activated by hitting them with your thumbs. The larger panels are playable characters to tag in, the medium ones are assist characters, and the single square tiny ones are passive effects. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbMgmOSyBHg You may need a guide for mission mode since its all in some heathen language, but other than that I managed to get by through trial and error, even for figuring out what the various assists do.

Edit: Woah wait, a fan translation?! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIaO4gny6Co Edit2: Oh yeah I should probably point this out. If you do look for the game, dont buy Jump Super Stars. Unless of course you mean youre currently downloading in the foreground and watching the gems fall into the cube. In which case, the edges of the cube fill up with orange as it downloads.
