Why yes, I DO have enough CON to whip my hair.

Started playing the game again recently, and decided to install a buttload of mods this time.
Among visual and quality of life mods, installed Stardew Valley Expanded, Ridgeside Village, East Scarp, and multiple separate NPC mods.
I might have gone a bit overboard with the amount of NPCs the mods added, seeing as there's someone's birthday basically every other day.

But, hey, some new experiences in a game I've played through many times.

Uncle Ben: Still Dead.
As far as mods go, going to drop another mention of Daily Screenshot, a mod that, by default, takes a screenshot of your farm once a day , when you first leave the farmhouse, or when you first arrive at it if you've managed to sleep at some other location.

You can subsequently use various image editing tools to assemble animated gifs, if you so desire.

This was about a year's worth of minor farm reorganization: https://imgur.com/OoaFhDf

Does installing stuff like Ridgeside mid game break anything (other than event chains or conversations possibly not making sense)? I tried doing what you did, got overwhelmed the first couple of days having to introduce myself to like 70 people for the intro quest and gave up to just do SVE, which seemed like enough new stuff to explore without pushing it too far.

I was thinking of putting the others back in again after I finish off a the community centre and friended most of the villagers so I can spend more time hanging out and exploring the new content without juggling the base game stuff too if that doesn't destroy the game.

Rune Factory 5 just released on Steam. Any Stardew thread thoughts on the game?

I'm surprised to be saying this, but I'd wait for a sale. It's still a fine game, but I regret paying full price. The controls have some rough edges and I haven't yet found a convenient way to give gifts to villagers. It works fine, just requires more finagling than I'd like. Since it's a port of a finished game, there's no reason to expect that to get better. . I think Rune Factory 4 is better than SV, and 5 is recognizably in that same style. The graphics are much prettier, but the rest of the execution isn't as good IMO.

In the meantime, I'd recommend giving My Time at Portia a try. If you've already played that, maybe give Immortal Life or Sun Haven a try. Neither are finished games, but they're still good fun.

It shouldn't outright break anything but you'll end up dealing with the "json shuffle."

Basically, mod added items get added to an alphabetical list at game startup, after all the items from the vanilla game. But, since it makes this list at game launch (not at the beginning of a new save) adding new mods puts new items into the list, not at the end of it.

This matters because artisan goods like wine or honey use the list to know what their core ingredient is.

So if you have a mod that adds grapefruit, grapefruit gets added to the list at, say, number 15. Anything made from grapefruit (wine, jelly, etc) will reference number 15 on the list. But, adding a new mod could put something else in that "15" slot, like Ham. Now you have a bunch of ham jelly instead of grapefruit jelly. And yes, this includes stuff still being made or aged.

The base price will come from the new item, which could be good or bad. I once had a whole bunch of cheap raspberry wine get converted to very, very valuable Radioactive Bass wine.

TLDR best to finish making all your artisan goods and sell them off before you add a mod with a bunch of new stuff.

Stardew canon pairings, ranked by how much I believe their relationships would last:

6. Alex and Haley. There’s not much holding these two together other than the trope of the lead jock dating the prettiest girl. Plus they both seem very closeted, more so than most of the others.

5. Sebastian and Abigail. Sebastian doesn’t seem to have a lot of patience for Abigail. It seems like the only reason he hangs out with her is because she’s in Sam's band too and is literally the only other alt person in town. Sam/Sebastian is a lot more plausible, because there’s mutual respect and shared interests there.

4. Harvey and Maru. They seem to have a good working relationship, but I feel icky about their age gap and the fact that he’s her boss. Plus Harvey is pretty high strung so I can see him getting freaked out by Maru’s cutting-edge robotics experiments.

3. Sam and Penny. They get along well, but the only mutual interest they seem to have is Vincent. It feels more like they'll get together because everyone else is taken than because they are attracted to each other.

2. Shane and Emily. Two pretty chill, low-maintenance people — at least once Shane gets his drinking under control. Still, they don’t seem to have a lot of mutual interests. I can’t see an atheist like Shane having a ton of patience for Emily’s crystal woo, and I can see Emily getting on Shane's case to take better care of himself.

1. Elliott and Leah. Mutual interest in art, plus similar backgrounds and compatible personalities. These two go together like coffee and oat milk.

Elliot and Leah would probably be super into eachother for about a month, then realize they're TOO alike and break up.

Sebastian and Abigail would either just peter out on its own, or when he inevitably leaves for a life in Zuzu city and she wants to stay in the valley.

Alex and Haley have a loveless marriage out of inertia, have a kid, probably become the next generation of Pam and Penny.

Penny and Harvey, if you gotta pair them all off, would also be the better pairing as she's a caregiver type anyway.

Ditto for Sam and Haru in their contrasts.

Also I'll take a frosty and small fries, please.

Partly just to give Maru a possible pairing that isn't implied to be twice her age.

They're not the legendary fish, they're thematically linked but legally distinct alternate versions. They can all be caught in any season, just need the quest to be active.

I was trying this over the weekend and I ended up turning off Ridgeside and East Scarp because the long list of mods just made the entire thing slow as balls. The load menu would take forever to come up, trying to load the start/load the game would take about 1-2 minutes and even going to the next day would end up with long waiting times.

Are you having any of this? I did add a few QOL mods and some that added a bunch of new crops, recipes and a much harder community center but I doubt those had that much of an impact.
