if it's color, set the RGB channel b/w points individually and sort it out in photoshop

supposedly, it's not optimal, but it works for me

I am never developing Acros in HC-110 again for two reasons: the midtones were so flat that it was hell getting them remotely acceptable, and it's not grainy enough.

I'd rather have flat midtones. It's a lot easier to add than it is to remove contrast.

They were so flat as to be posterized. I had to darken the middle area of trees there to hide it.

My first color shots with my Pentax 67's 55mm f/4 lens, and first P67 shots of Portra 160 where I know what I'm doing. 55mm (~28mm on a 35mm camera) is the perfect focal length for me.

I've already straightened each of them; the parking lot has a slight slope to it. (Also I'm not revisiting, just processing my big folder of TIFFs from that trip :ssh:)

one end of strap attached to the lower grip lug, one end attached to the upper right lug, for tactical street shooting

edit: oh yeah I shot two rolls of portra 400 and 0.2 rolls of portra 160 with the Mamiya 7 and it's pretty nice except for the whole thing where you have to manually reset the light shield after changing the lens and the only indication you didn't is that the camera doesn't take a photo

I have learned of something that I never knew existed and now want very badly: the Graflex Combat Graphic, a 6x7 rangefinder:

also came in a civilian version:

it takes 70mm perforated film (which is why the civilian version is called the Graphic 70)

winding is by spring motor drive, which will advance 9 frames in single shot mode before you have to wind it again. body is made of magnesium (but still weighs 5.5 lbs).

Of course, out of the ten sheets I had, I somehow managed to crease the best one getting it onto the mod54. What's the best way to flatten this out so I can scan it properly on a Flextight?

What are the problems you're having with the process?

I've found with Mod54s it's easiest to just load two sheets on each side and ignore the innermost slot. I'm pretty sure others here (what the gently caress, maybe?) have had issues with uneven development on the innermost sheets, too. Otherwise it's just a matter of practise, and I've heard getting a proper dark tent makes it easier but I'm way too cheap for that.

the entire process except for the actual "composing and shooting" part :v:

We have light-tight individual darkrooms at my school, so no worry about space, but still. I'm tempted to take MrBlandAverage's suggestion and get myself a proper Jobo tank instead of the school's equipment.

also the toyo 45aII is a bit of a pain to set up and take down. I'm now considering buying my own camera to minimize having to deal with checking out and returning the school's equipment.

semi-unrelated: should I buy this thing
