Granted I don't play MMOs. Is that a normal reaction?
Castigating a pariah seems like an effective way for a recently-joined member of society to solidify their bonds with their new fellow-citizens and gain prestige. The flimsy original justification for the pariah status doesn't matter once that status is established; from that point on each act against the pariah simply reinforces the appropriateness of the revulsion and sets a new baseline for future acts.

People on the internet will tell someone to kill themselves because that person likes the wrong video game, just to build e-cred. Give the same people a shot at fame, fortune, and women in bikini armor, and they'd probably gleefully flay someone in the public square.

His point still stands, especially if we take into consideration the past year or two's worth of chapters.
The chuunin exam arc was really good, and I think still stands up as the best long arc I've seen in that sort of series, with lots of plot progression and effective use of the series' large cast. The "rescue Sasuke" arc wasn't as good, but still decent. Everything after the timeskip has been awful, though, and I've only checked a new chapter every once in a while out of a vague "may as well see how it ends" feeling.

I just read "Alive - The Final Evolution." It was a pretty mediocre series. I liked a lot of the characters, but the plot really dragged on in the second half. It also had one of the most disappointing results in terms of who the protagonist chose to date in the end. The two options were 1. this one cool character who was part of his group for the entire series, had a good personality, and even had the guts to kiss him and 2. childhood friend that was literally brainwashed for 95% of the entire series and has no personality traits other than "is nice." Like, I honestly can't comprehend why the author (and I guess most Japanese readers?) would prefer that outcome.
Yeah, that was my response as well. A pity, Ice Girl was awesome.

Do Japanese people actually think people kiss each other on the cheek all the time in America (isn't that where Uruka is going?)?

IIRC they usually say that "foreigners" do it, not specifically Americans. If I had to speculate on where this all came from, it sounds like something from late 19th/early 20th century travelogues ("I went to Europe and the roundeyes there greeted people with a kiss") that somehow got stuck in the public consciousness.

We're going to have to break out some PhD level harem math to figure this one out. The initial two girls were already in his class so they aren't technically "new" and Uruka was still always going to school with him and was never "new" so she's out. So the only two options left to him are sensei and tiny sempai since they were actually new people who weren't part of his life before the story started. We always have to remove the actually correct answer which eliminate sensei so by process of elimination tiny sempai has to win.

Edit: I went back to verify my information and it looks like tiny sempai might have been the first to put the idea of Yuiga becoming a teacher in his head so that's worth a ton a points.

Asumi is a late entrant, which is the worst possible odds.

If we're looking at it from a popularity/audience pleasing perspective, it would be Sensei, but she's best girl so she's out.

The initial two were in the same grade, but didn't seem to have any contact with him beyond that; they hadn't entered into the story. The ultimate question is "whose story is this?", and their introduction makes the most sense as the beginning of a story for both Yuiga and them. So from a convention/structure perspective, it would be one of the initial two, probably Fujiwara.

Going by visual novel logic that the last route is the "true" route, doesn't this mean that Sensei is the true route? Which means that once again Senpai has been robbed.

Could also be the "hidden" ending that doesn't get revealed by the game until you get all the other ones. From a marketing perspective it makes sense for Sensei as the most popular heroine by a wide margin to go last, so her fans don't just bail after her chapter.

I'm fine with this method, as it lets the readers all get what they want without bitter feelings about winning or losing. Harem romcoms aren't where you go for "artistic integrity," they're where you go for a smile and a chuckle.

But yes, Sensei is the true route, and I won't entertain any other notion.
