I don't actually have strong opinions about board games Question though: Is putting NMS/NWS pictures behind spoiler tags instead of linking them a bannable thing? Because I've seen it happen a couple times and don't think anybody made a rule about it so that people know not to do it

Did chooch fix the thing where it doesn't spoiler timg-tagged images? e: I suppose I could just test that myself e2: ...huh. I used timg tags, maybe there's a threshold you have to cross before they kick in e3: Learned something new about timg tags today, if you use them with a small image they don't actually appear since they don't need to resize anything. bawk has a new favorite as of 22:45 on Apr 1, 2013 |

Apparently not. Unless that's a problem with the Awful app.

SC Bracer posted:Apparently not. Unless that's a problem with the Awful app. Nope, but that doesn't matter anyway because I don't believe Awful spoilers images that have a spoiler tag around them, unless pokeyman & co fixed that in a recent update and I just haven't noticed it Either way it just puts spoiler-tagged nms/nws images in a weird in-between state with the rules, because it certainly hides the image, but one person can make a nws/nms image visible by mistake. If they don't know timg'd pictures aren't spoilered when quoted, they can do it just by responding to a thing

I use a Stylish script to make all the text in spoilers visible at all times, because I really don't care about spoilers, and I hate having to mouseover posts where there's a dozen different chunks of spoilered text. If would be great to be able to see smilies and images without having to mouseover, too.

In the US, Sigourney narrated Planet Earth, and Oprah narrated Life. Naturally, the BBC Attenborough versions sold better on bluray than the US Discovery versions. Which makes me hope they've learned their lesson and the next one won't be "Americanized".

tbp posted:No I meant why are you a huge old radio dork?! Insomnia as a teenager combined with an NPR station that played them from like 12 to 3am every night. Then as an adult I spent a ton of time committing and found them more soothing then NPR daytime stuff but more attention focusing then music. I also like guns, rye whiskey, and dames with a level head and nice gams.

The Saddest Rhino posted:Why would they do this, is the script the same otherwise? I'd guess they just don't trust viewers too watch it without a recognizable name attached, I don't know how big Sir David is in the US, but I can't really see the logic behind Oprah and Weaver. One hosts a talk show so I suppose the reasoning is people must enjoy listening too her and Sigourney starred in a movie with a new extraterrestrial lifeform?

I find it really hard to watch the US version of Life because Oprah's voice is so smug that it gets kinda grating. Alec Baldwin did a pretty good job with Frozen Planet, though.

That makes much more sense, I should probably have checked her career before questioning her suitability. How much additional cost would dual audio add to production, would it even require any editing?

They should do a version with Attenborough, a version with Sigourney Weaver and then a version with whoever wins a poll on "Who Has the Most Annoying Voice Ever?" That way, you get the British option, the North American option and the comedy option, for maximum consumer choice.

Nuuoooh my GOD look at this little baby! I don't know if it's bassets in general or just mine but she is just the biggest cuddly baby you could imagine. Like, it's way too much to handle sometimes. I would want more bassets in the future but she sheds like crazy and I have no clothes that don't have a ton of dog hair on them.
