I wonder if British tankers using that tank would wonder why the 18th U.S. President was screaming in their ears. (It is a Lee/Grant joke)  (Same tank, except the one with the rounder turret on the left was used by the British and called the "Grant", while the one on the right used an American turret and was called the "Lee".)

Did Rifts ever have aspirations to being a miniatures wargame like Warhammer? Or did somebody just feel the need to detail a bunch of vehicles with "Not for players!" stamped on them?

Just to make it clear for those of us who got into RPGs in the 2000s (like me), what is meant when an RPG is described as "very 80s" or "pretty 90s"? Is it just a theme of general whiny angst, or something else?

Boy, am I glad I play in the age of FATE, *World, and storygaming swine. Even if they all hit the second-to-last one on Alien Rope Burn's list, and some check off a few others (like *World's playbook system). Hooray for metaplots being replaced by anime plots!

Why would you want to invalidate a portion of your possible playable characters in one swoop like that? I thought the general trend was supposed to be expanding those options, for better or worse.

I'm sorry, WHAT?! Go back to the bit about Tremere and Gangrel, I know those guys from Bloodlines and Beckett was cool! Jeez, if I want to play a game like that, I'd play it in FATE or maybe even Neon Abyss...
