I'm going to go ahead and call out White Wolf as the undisputed masters of it; as evidence I submit WoD Gypsies, Tradition Book: Akashic Brotherhood, Kindred of the East, Hengeyokai... Well, actually..

I just wanted to thank you for posting this writeup! I've really enjoyed it - might try to run the game, if I can sort out the logistics. Thank you again! ("If I cut their body deeply enough, they'll explode. That's what it means to be number one in power." Fantastic.)

Six seconds, guaranteed. Nice! InfiniteJesters posted:I think the subtly-placed My Little Pony reference is what broke my will to live with that one. That feat's not a MLP reference, actually. I really like the idea of this game, but lord, the art for the female characters. These two are the worst, but none of them are good. (On the plus side: the female Priest's hat is fantastic.)

Second names remind me of epithets - "Jack the Ripper", "Alexander the Great", "Basil Bulgar-Slayer", etc. Just, somewhat more verbose than is usual in English. Nifty stuff! Seems like a good hook for a character, honestly.

Hey, "vanished" doesn't mean "dead"! I choose to believe that the siren goes to a better place when she vanishes; a happy farm filled with lots of pools and other good-aligned creatures.

Alien Rope Burn posted:Given those laser fingers do a minimum of 1d6 x 10 S.D.C., I'd think that'd be a very short game to play with any pet. Terrific for cat-haters, tho. All of my cats are native to Wormwood. They're invulnerable to laser-fingers, plus I saved money on vet bills - instead of having to get them de-wormed, all their worms just curled up & died on their own when I imported them! Alien Rope Burn posted:Having iterative attacks feels like a warning sign. There are very good reasons D&D 3.5 derivatives like D&D 4e or Fantasy Craft threw them out. The math on them has always ben horrible and not well thought-out, forcing fighter-types to boost their attack bonus in whatever degenerate means they can to make those extra attacks actually worthwhile at higher levels. In Legend's defense, the change to make all secondary iterative attacks equal means that there's a plausible middle ground. If Poor BAB characters can hit anything with their primaries, then Good BAB characters should be able to do the same with their secondary/iterative attacks, since they're all the same value now. Of course, there are other to-hit bonuses besides the BAB which will muddle things... but it could work. Alien Rope Burn posted:Gypsy O.C.C.s Why.

Halloween Jack posted:References aside, ghuls are not a subhuman species in The Everlasting. They’re humans who received immortality by drinking an alchemical elixir called Anecro. Most of them were ignorant of the raw deal they were getting, no pun intended. So, uh. Is there actually any reason for ghuls to trick other people into becoming new ghuls, besides senseless sadism? I mean, they degenerate over time, so it's not like vampires, where the older ones are stronger. All that creating new ghuls does is create more, fresher competition for meat & leadership. Did the developers think this out at all?

If this is the case, the Gamemaster determines what, if any characteristics the player will have based on being from wherever or whenever he originated.
