They don't spend a lot of money on the shrine so it's a little run-down, but it's pretty enough that a lot of executives like cutting their deals here. Or hiring mercenaries! That's probably why you're here. Hakurei has a problem - the kind you talk about in secluded shrines instead of over the phone - and you're supposed to meet here at 3PM to talk to some executive named Miyazaki about it. Two minutes until they're late. That's more than enough time to say something cool while looking out dramatically towards the trees. Tsukiko Miyazaki Miyazaki taps her augmented reality glasses and they project a storm of screens and images. Most of them feature the Yatagarasu Facility. "We've had a problem at our Yatagarasu Facility. The short version... we've been working on a new line of powered armour, the Moon Rabbit." A very mobile-looking armoured suit appears next to the Facility. "It's due to be demonstrated tonight. You can probably guess where this is going... the suit we printed was stolen out of Yatagarasu last night. We can print off another one, but we can't let the first printing fall into the wrong hands." "Its tracking system has been disabled. All we have are footage of the thieves and this symbol they left behind..."  "... We believe they call themselves the Shining Eye ninja clan."

Seriously, it is fantastic. It is the kind of moustache you'd vote for President. No way is this dude not the leader. They totally left their calling card on purpose to taunt Hakurei. The local AI doesn't seem to notice, they pass less guards than they should have... Digging deeper reveals it was down to some "technical faults" that the ninja were clearly expecting. Miyazaki blinks at certain points on her glasses to call up the Moon Rabbit's technical specs. "Most of the hardware is existing public tech. We've just found a way to fit it all into one suit without going bankrupt." Tsukiko smiles. "An impossible request, I know. It's designed to operate in difficult extraterrestrial terrain. I won't bore you with the details, but you can study the specs if you wish." Miyazaki reveals the powered armour's systems! Someone inside the Moon Rabbit gains the aspect I Can Breathe In Space and the following stunts: Five-Colored Shots: The Moon Rabbit sports charge cannons which can launch pulses of destructive energy at multiple targets in the same zone. Rabbit Movement: The Moon Rabbit has an effective Athletics of Great (+4). Jump Pods: Except for absolute barriers like solid walls, the Moon Rabbit ignores all situation aspects that impede movement.

It has to make do with a couple of hills nobody really wanted to pave over. Miyazaki called ahead, so you have the run of the place. Once you're let into the main gate you find yourselves on a street that winds through a technician's village - it's nothing special, just bunch of apartments and offices with very little rad Someone with a lot of foresight has decided to print the backup Moon Rabbit in a different, untouched area so the evidence shouldn't be contaminated around here... ____  Friday February 10 2119, 3:22PM EST Location: Port of Miami Aspects: Big Maze of Shipping Containers, Security Blindspots, It Came From the Ocean The largest container port in the state of Florida and the "Cruise Capital of the World" is not actually much to look at by day. Once you're out of the Miami Port Tunnel and into the Metroplex proper it's basically just a mess of functional offices, cranes, docks and shipping crates. So many shipping crates. There must be some kind of problem or holdup or something because who needs so many of these loving things, honestly? Hopefully you have a better idea than just looking in all of them until Galford turns up. Alright! Feel free to assess these places or pick people to pester (like Hikomaro Yabeno or the guards or whatever) for a bit before I throw something at you.

Yatagarasu Facility Maria "Hey, hey, keep it down," Hiko says as he hops out of one of the docks. The overall-clad techie stands apart from the other overall-clad techies because he had a robotic left arm - nothing fancy, mostly just a bunch of rods and joints jammed into the nerve connector fused to his arm stump. It's an arm that says "I can't afford the months off work I'd need to have my arm regrown, but my company will cover a cheap replacement!". It can stretch pretty far if you're into that kind of thing though. "Uh... most of us were drunk. Except Dennis, he was on duty. I'm not surprised he missed it, though. He's up in the facility right now." Anna A. Asagiri can tell this guy is on the level. Also hung over! I couldn't think of much to give Asagiri here, BUT I'm just going to let that 5 carry over as you head deeper in so you don't have to roll to see more poo poo.  Port of Miami Moriyuki Ando The guards totally don't know what Ando is talking about because port guards don't associate with smugglers, but they do send him deeper into the office blocks. In one old building by the water, next to a cafe and a lot of offices with "FOR LEASE" signs, sits a totally non-suspicious rented office with a sign over the door saying "JIM'S BOAT HIRE". "What's up?" Jimmy the Fist asks as Ando enters. The overall-clad smuggler has a robotic arm of his own, but his is designed for a dock worker doing heavy lifting - it's big and burly, with a special harness to help the body support it. The harness was clearly not designed for someone who eats as much as Jimmy, though. "Hey, Mr ExoCute! What can I do for you?" Juliana Meanwhile, Juliana gets into the port's security systems! She places the scene aspect Security Override.

Yatagarasu Facility Maria, Anna In you go! The inside of the facility is all blank corridors, huge rooms full of assembly lines and metal printers, and thick screens churning out reams of data that nobody loving reads because nobody actually physically enters this industrial hellhole if they can help it. The place is hot and smells just a little of molten metal, but Hikomaro has slowed down operations and vented as much hot air out of the ceiling as possible in an attempt to make visitors comfortable. He makes himself known on the screens as you duck under the Hikomaro Yabeno  Aspects: Pervading Hakurei VI; Master of Yin and Yang (Lasers); Just call the Onmyouji, LET'S GO! "Mme Santore, Mme Asagiri! What can this humble AI do for you?" "Dennis is in his computer lab upstairs," he adds. "Or, the scene of the crime is down the hall ahead." Anna A. Anna notes everything! No signs of forced entry or exit, the cameras and alarms still clearly work... there's also a faint shape on one edge of the Shining Eye, like a hand holding something card-sized. Whoever was spraying here didn't move their hand from the wall in time. The keys are a ways down the hall too. Shiro It doesn't take long for Shiro to find something, because behind the manufactory are...  Ninjas! American ninjas. White as hell ninjas. They're making their way through the trees to the back of the place. Shiro can hear a quiet argument: "If the keys aren't here boss is gonna kill you." "I didn't drop them! You had them last!" "I don't remember that." "You are such a douchebag." "Shut up, guys, we're getting close!"

Port of Miami Moriyuki Ando Jimmy the Fist studies the picture. "Ah, yeah, this guy? You can find Armstrong at the 2101 Odyssey club on the edge of the port. Practically runs the joint, actually. Don't know him personally but he's been cutting into my... boat business." Juliana Juliana actually spots Galford! Facial recognition puts him around the 2101 Odyssey a bunch of times this week with 85% certainty, and last night he was spotted on a dock near the club. If Juliana watches, he waves in a Moon Rabbit-shaped mecha escorted by ninja and, under the cover of darkness, has it hop into a boat and covered in a tarp before the ninja drive it away in a southerly direction. Storms Don't freak out but there's a ninja stalking you guys.

Rest assured, that won't happen again! Hikomaro is TAKING CHARGE!" Anna A. The technician's computer lab is really just a room with a bunch of computers in it. If their superiors didn't want a technician near the facility at all times they could probably do this at home. Dennis at least has the decency to minimise his game and offer Anna one of his donuts.  "Hey Hiko, check it out, we got a magical girl in here! What's up?" Shiro NINJA WILL: <Krysmbot> Ettin, -+++ +2 = 4 "Wh-where what is?!" one ninja asks. The rest go "aaaah" and try to scatter.

Juliana notices a few black-clad ninjas stepping out of the shadows... and a new guy stepping out of the back. Galford Armstrong  Aspects: Shining Eye Silver Dragon; Fantastic Moustache "Yeah? What can I do for you, ma'am?" Anyone looking at Galford for the first time must overcome a difficulty of Great (+4) with Will or be hit with a maneuver as they're awed by his Fantastic Moustache.

With her keys Maria can open up the Shining Eye van! The back opens to reveal: • A selection of local snakes safely sealed away in glass boxes • A box with a bunch of mice in it • A weird smell • A woman bound in duct tape with a black bag over her head • Several boxes of donuts • A locked box that almost definitely contains guns • A box of bullets (see, told you) • Duct Tape (totally worth an aspect)

2012 Odyssey Club I rolled defense for the ninjas (with witnesses!) but let's not clutter up the thread, we know they were taken out anyway. Besides... So yeah, the club collapses. The remaining ninjas are crushed - along with Juliana and Ando, if they're not careful - and a fire begins to rage! Somehow the club's office just sinks to the ground untouched, though, if you can get to it. Maybe you can find the info you need after all! Overcome difficulty Great (+4) or suffer a moderate consequence! Oh poo poo! The remaining ninjas are all crushed or knocked out. Galford concedes and gets away, taking a fate point with the consequence that all his ninja/paperwork poo poo survives and probably gets looted by you guys. The moustached Silver Dragon will be back... Meanwhile, the Port of Miami takes the Terrible Consequence The Port Miami Fire unless you do something fast.

Galford Armstrong is a master of seizonjutsu, techniques that grant him much control over his body and the ability to survive things others can't as they fall around him. • The ninja clan already has at least one engineer skilled in the repair of powered armour. • Better watch out: one of them knows mechajutsu.

If you need a quick cleanup and a light dusting it's good times though! Samantha also describes what she saw, as much as she can. It's not very precise, but she gives enough for Maria to nail their likely patron: Yig, Father of Serpents. Worshippers mostly get immunity to poisons, the ability to talk to snakes and some cool magic. He also likes sending magic serpents to kill people he doesn't like. You're probably going to encounter a snake or two is what I'm saying. On the way, Samantha teaches Maria and Anna a a few gun-fu tricks. They get the Gun-Fu Tricks advantage and a free invoke on it for this adventure! The VTOL flies away! Friday February 10 2119, 4:40PM EST Location: Cuba Not that part of Cuba, the other part.  Location: Shining Eye Dojo, Cuban Highlands There we go. You spot it from a distance before you get to it - a huge torii marks the mountain peak it sits on, if you approach it from the right angle. From here you can see a lot of buildings and walls running down the mountainside. Fortunately you also spot the anti-air cannons before you get in range, and the VTOL drops your van off as close as it can get. There's a ruined garage right at the bottom - they probably used it once, but now it's just a decaying shell. It's enough for you to hide the ninja van behind and set up, though. Looks like they're getting ready for you. Up the slope you can see the first gate slowly close, and ninjas with SMGs - and the occasional rocket launcher - taking up position on balconies and behind rocks. This is going to be fun! Doing this in Google Docs. Here is your map! I'll edit it so we don't have people changing poo poo when I'm not looking. Cover means ninjas inside get Armour: 2 if they can be seen at all, but the Garage's Easy Target is undoing any armour bonus you might get right now. To make things easier to read, ninjas inside a building can be seen from the outside if they're touching the edge. For the sake of ease, I will just have you all take your turns, then the bad guys take theirs, and so on. Just to be mean, they start with the Locked And Loaded boost. Miami Ninjas Ninjas start to go down! The grenade shot to the back sends one ninja reeling off the back of the roof and the other slamming into a wall; they both melt into the shadows for now. Meanwhile, the rocket ninja fire a salvo of rockets! Two of them crash into the garage and tear chunks out of the walls, while the ninja above the underpass aims a shot through a window at you. Finally, as the ninja with SMGs pepper the building and those running out of it with bullets, more ninja use the cover of fire to rush down the ramp outside the dojo towards you! ___ 3 ninjas down! I should probably cap Inverse Ninja Law at +5. For now they boost their Ranged to 5. Both Snipers have consequences (one Mild Grazed, one Moderate Scorched, so they use Cozy Camper to concede like assholes and net a Fate Point each. Two Rocket Ninjas fire at the garage! With +2 from Unstoppable Force: <Krysmbot> Ettin, //-++6 = 6, +-//+6 = 6 With Destrado's Temporary Exemption From Bullets the garage barely holds at OOOOXX with two consequences, Crumbling and Shattered! It will probably go down next turn though. The last rocket ninja makes a zone attack against the Garage and thus Storms, Anna and Ando: <Krysmbot> Ettin, -///+4 = 3 and he'll tag Locked and Loaded to make it 5. Roll defense, remember it's Weapon: 4 and you get +2 Armour from the garage until it collapses on you. The four Miami Ninja in the dojo move into Zone 1 there, the ones near Shiro wait for someone to approach from the distance and prepare Shurikens Ready, the Dojo produces another couple of Miami Ninjas, and now gun ninjas! Weapon:2, etc. The two near the dojo fire at Storms: <Krysmbot> Ettin, -++-+5 = 5, -+--+5 = 3 The two near rock cover try to hit Juliana as she runs by: <Krysmbot> Ettin, -/-/+5 = 3, /-+-+5 = 4 And the one in the middle takes a shot at Maria: <Krysmbot> Ettin, --+++5 = 5 Your turns again!
