No surprise there is a clone of Elona with microtransactions. https://www.tap.io/app/79072?utm_source=taptap_cn

Scalding Coffee posted:No surprise there is a clone of Elona with microtransactions. It's just not the same without the awkward mix of tiles stolen from like three different games and a game creation tool kit. also it probably sucks because Elona is already slow-paced so adding microtransaction goals to that would probably make any progression glacial, and also gently caress microtransactions. bonus: I really like the app icon, which is just a spam can with the words "elona" on it and an animes face. I can certainly think of ways it represents the game but that is totally just a stock icon they can slam a title on quickly

Isn't that how things always worked, even for getting AP? You might try being overweight and fighting fast enemies.

i mean couldnt you theoretically buy a bunch of raw boots or something and eat your way to lightning speed? I guess i never got far enough where i needed to do that

Raw shoes, but good luck finding one. I cheated enough money to have all the stores be level 500+ and only found a shoe every handful of real time hours while doing circuits around the map. It was only in Act 1. I probably should try out the Act 2 area.

The thing is, shoes are distinctly different from boots and boy howdy, do the people in Tyris love their boots. Even the wonder footwear Seven League Boots are boots that make you travel faster, but eating them won't increase your speed. You can eat all the regular boots you want, but it won't increase speed. You can still eat shoes or anything else that are made of raw or candy and can change their material to raw or candy with certain items. It is that stores sell shoes like they are a very rare item. iirc shoes are low 'rarity' so levelling shops will cause less of them to appear - it's been a long while since I played but I remember specifically keeping some shops low level for poo poo like that.

Uhm, can you eat shoes in this game??? Please tell me it’s a mechanic that exists because of the phrase “eat my own shoe”.

Dalaram posted:You can eat anything that is made of “raw” or candy. This includes shoes, swords, guns... Does the game ever say what “raw” is, or is it soylent green for all we know? So eating raw equipment gives permanent buffs like shoes = speed, weapons = strength or something like that? Raw is literally raw meat likened to steak. A very sturdy kind of meat that never rots. Meat meat will still eventually rot. You will know about the soylent kind if it is named after an NPC, as in the thread title. Go into the casino and you may find a table or a chair made of meat that you can eat and no one will object. An eaten item may increase a stat if it has the attribute that increases said stat, which is vastly different than it simply increasing a stat. Shoes always have the equipment attribute for increasing speed, but eating it won't increase your speed by several points that way. You have to eat several to increase your speed by a few points. I'm a laser gun wielding golem warmage who roams from town to town pulling up vegetables and hunting monsters, eating every pair of shoes I can find while dabbling in the commodities market and running a horse ranch.

Also it's a pain to manage pets and what they eat or use so I just shoot lasers and magic darts all day.

Material scrolls don't roll randomly now. Instead, each scroll type has a list that they'll cycle through, with blessed scrolls adding a couple of options into the chain. So if you use a superior mat scroll on an item that isn't already a superior material, it'll start at dawn cloth, then a second scroll will take it to spirit cloth, and so on.
|
# ? Sep 21, 2019 19:27 |
|
To me it makes superior/change scrolls a bit worse, since you now need multiple of them (potentially blessed) but it makes inferior scrolls a lot stronger since they're easier to get and you can control them now.
|
# ? Sep 21, 2019 19:36 |
|
It is less annoying to know that having X number of scrolls will guarantee a material instead of playing nice with the RNG.

So Noa seems to be developing games again. He recently posted some info on reddit about his new game, Elin's Inn. https://www.reddit.com/r/ElinsInn/comments/dgs2iz/about_elins_inn_and_help/ It's a Dwarf Fortress/Rimworld type of game, from what Noa has said. Potentially a demo for it tomorrow.
