Artix posted:

nd finally, we have Yugi's alter ego, Yami Yugi. The Pharaoh Atem had his soul sealed inside the Millennium Puzzle, and once Yugi solved it, he comes out occasionally to possess regular Yugi and make him a hyper-competent badass. The manga gave him a murderous streak for good measure, but that was significantly toned down for the english releases.

Thank you for this succinct explanation. I was always confused as all gently caress the few times I watched this show as to why Yugi's voice suddenly dropped a couple octaves and his hair got all crazy. (And I was too lazy to go and look it up!)

The whole "trapped in a game world" reminds me of a book I read called "Rodemonte's Revenge" (Gary Paulsen. I'm sure you fellow children of the 90's read some of his stuff). Still, ol' Rodemonte didn't have magical fantasy monsters to call upon!

Give the wolf to blue haired lady and replace Kanikabuto.

Leave the dragon with Yugi. Kid seems like he'd be down with dragons.

In my entirely uneducated opinion:

Give The Dragon to Yugi and replace the Feral Imp.

Give Fizdis the Maneater Bug to replace her Dragon.

Give Shimon Penguin Soldier and Mystic Horseman.

I'm gonna guess it's in the middle of that brown patch on the top right, because it just seems like you'd have to go as far out of your way as possible.

Bakura can trade his Swampthing for a Mystic Horseman. Sounds like a good trade!

I'm gonna guess that there is a monster to be found in the very top left corner of the map.

Wow. Yep, I was naive. I wasn't expecting that level of dickery. Good show, game, good show.

Give Mai Harpie's Pet Dragon, since that seems obvious, and I can only do obvious.

No opinion on the rest. Do what you want.

We should take Mai and Fizdis.

Yugi can have Kuriboh, I guess.

I'll say that we get a monster for liberating the boss' town.

Go ahead and move Sanga over to Tea's team, if that's where he/she/it fits best. Replace the Megami-thingy.

Bench Mako.

My favorite marshal is Tea today. (Is that supposed to be pronounced like the drink, or like tay-uh?)

Give Tristan the Curse of Dragon, because dragons.

Toss Shimon the Celtic Guardian and Illusory Gentleman

If we're also doing safari, I'd say it's pretty drat likely we get a free monster for rescuing Joey.

I'm gonna say there's no monster.

Surely they wouldn't be dickish enough to give you a monster on the final map, would they?

Wait, yes. Yes they would.

Monster for beating Scott and Shimon has to do it, for extra dickery.

I could never figure out Kaiba from the very few episodes of the TV show I watched. It seemed like he was supposed to be kind of a bad guy... but also kind of a good guy?

Good to know he's just supposed to be a jerk. A competent jerk. I'm liking the guy so far! Yugi was kind of bland. Kaiba seems like the kind of guy who gets poo poo done.

Not gonna bother with a bandwagon vote, but I'm going to guess that you'll get a monster for liberating one of the other castles. Seriously, 3 other castles with no enemies in them? There's gotta be something there! If that's too general, then I'll throw my luck in with the southwest castle, because it's the smallest one, I guess.

Swap man-eater bug for Hercules Beetle. Hercules Beetle seems like the most boring one.

You will get a monster for liberating a town. If that's not specific enough, the top left town, because that looks like the most out of the way.

Well, there are those two towns on either end of the map with nothing else in them. Surely the game designers have to give you some reason to go there! How about, one monster in the extreme southeast town and one for beating the map.

Well, since it's the last mission, the biggest rear end in a top hat move would be giving you a monster for beating the final boss, because why wouldn't you want to play through this game again?! :suicide:
