all right, psp-tv.com is back up and looking like working. I was able to login to a room, add a video, logout, restart the server and log back in and the same video was there so I think is working brain is kinda fried now. But let me know if something doesn't work

Sorry but the node.js version I had started developing a nasty memory leak and started to cause repeated site crashes. Today it just fuckin died. Normally I just rebuild the dependencies and go on my way but this time it was royally hosed. So I went about upgrading node.js to latest build which is where I ran into compilation issues. So I had to update the gcc packages, which given the age of the CentOS build, that took some doing. Then I find that the version of node.js is too new for the older build of the sync website software(the psp-tv you know and love) so I had to get latest version of that and deal with YET MORE CONFIG FILE CHANGES AND OTHER ASSORTED BULLSHIT. I do router programming and other infrastructure poo poo for a living and it reinforces my absolute disdain for hand editing config files. Esp in *nix environments where you have to be aware of case and tab characters in files. anyway, because of the forced upgrade, the flat files that store each customization were too old to be ported so they're gone. This poo poo is opensource software so if the dev wants to gently caress with how a file is formatted, no one can stop them. Its the madness on the other end of the software dev spectrum from the 16 meetings closed source devs have to have about code commenting structures. Which are derailed by Bob from Sales because he wants to know you can't use the curly brackets and won't shut the gently caress up. SHUT THE gently caress UP BOB The ultimate go ahead plan is to get my friends over Lithium Hosting to hook me up with a VPS running an OS from sometime in this decade and to keep a pleasant relation with a sale rep(very hard for me!) so I know when new OS's available. Doing side by side upgrades should be less traumatic because I'll be going from the same version of the site.
