What's a synctube? -its a place where you can watch videos together. and chat. History of synchtubes -once there was http://www.synchtube.com. Life was great. -Then Mr. Chess closed the doors but promised to release to release the source code. -that never happened. -then vidya4chan appeared. there was hope. -the maker of vidya4chan refused to release his source code. there was sadness. -then goontubes appeared. a wary hope returned -but alas the source code is forthcoming. -whilst staring at a butt, coconono received an email alert: Calzoneman released a synchtube-like project -coconono fought for 48 hours, slept little, yelled a lot, RTd butts and thus, https://www.psp-tv.com was born -then it crashed -coconono read logs and cried -coconono begged Calzoneman for a fix -then it came back up again repeat the last 4 lines until infinity. donations can be paypalled to coconono@gmail.com SCHEDULE(things generally start around 8pm EST): Sundays: PPV chat, http://www.psp-tv.com/r/sunsweet drop in, turn the video off, complain about PPV. How to use Sync. this is how most people are when they first get to the site:  Lets fix this. So here's the default page. Its pretty spartan. It'll get better once I learn HTML/CSS.  if there's any channels that have listed themselves publicly and have people, they'll show up. Click on the channel, pick a username and enjoy! If you want to create a channel, type in a channel name and hit enter woooah, you've created a channel.  more on that stuff later. Creating a username: ok, so you're in a channel type in a name, and hit guest if you don't want to register. if you want to have a register a login(required if you want to create a permanent room), hit the login/register button  then hit the register button  pick a name, choose a password and hit register again. now you're registered. woo. Channel stuff: if you make a channel, you have option to register it  this will let save the playlist, and I think it runs in TV mode, which is kinda cool. add stuff to the playlist(provided you have permission) in the media URL bar:  Next will queue it up right after the current video, and End will put it at the bottom of the playlist. if there's no videos currently playing as soon as you add a video it will start playing. this is broken for right now, ignore it.  Options if you click on the option button, you'll find some cool stuff.  I like my theme dark, layout single column(this makes the video and chat nice and big), timestamps on, and Chat notice on as well. It's a well known match, but it's a good one. the cool thing about the current sync setup is you can link the match in my room and its there until until I, or an admin comes through and kills it. I've hard rebooted the server several times as part of stress testing and it keeps playlists. sorry if I didn't make that clear.

Saturday afternoon EST(aka when I wake up from my drunken stupor) I'll be taking Sync offline for a few hours while I make some modifications. The node.js version Sync runs off(currently stable version) of has a nasty bug with CentOS that will cause it to blow up. SHAME. When it blows up, it eats the recent changes like avatars, playlists and MOTDs. The solution is to downgrade node.js to a previous stable version that has been confirmed as good. After services are restored you might notice your avatar, MOTD or recent playlist submissions have disappeared.
