Tomorrow Night: THE RETURN OF GOLDBERG! This show is interesting politically. Goldberg was not ready to return to the ring, but was rushed back to make the Atlanta show. He was also seething at WCW for how they'd booked Tank Abbott who was his big return match. Russo and Bischoff in turn thought he was faking being unready to return to the ring and buried him to the locker room for being difficult to work with. This should be enough to make this the biggest Nitro in months, but there's more. Last Monday on WCW Live Vince Russo promised something big. On Thunder Eric Bischoff said all the paperwork is signed and there's nothing Vince McMahon can do about it. Will they reveal anything about their big surprise, or will we really have to wait until the Bash? Never mind, I looked it up--ratings are actually down for this Nitro (2.8). But I'd be curious to look at the quarter hours. Honestly, from this point on, Nitro is pretty dead set in the ratings around 3.0 until the very end. There does seem to be a slight bump to around 3.5 in the fall of 2000 for a few weeks, but that passes quickly.
