So now we segue from WCW being extremely dull and non-sensical bad (Kevin Nash era) to entertaining car-wreck bad (Russo era), to a fusion of two into "Holy poo poo we're losing 60 million dollars a year and all of our draws and even our midcarders and we have no idea what to do anymore" appallingly bad.

Halloween Jack posted:If I remember right, some of the best (i.e. least worst) shows from late-era WCW were right after somebody had left, and Sullivan and the other guys left on the booking committee booked more-or-less sensible shows, without a bunch of crazy nonsense. Sort of true but not in this case.

I love that even after Russo they can't book a good show to save their lives. Like even the interim between Bischoff and Russo was just dull. There was really something terminal in the culture at WCW. It wasn't just who was at the helm.

Bam Bam Bigelow's entire WCW career is defined by having matches nobody could possibly want to see. When 1999 WCW was still good, Bam Bam dragged things down, and since everything's been flying off the rails awful he hasn't had anything bad or stupid enough to make me excited to see it, unlike the Big T vs. Booker T matches of the world, nor the possibility of a match actually being decent like the Cruiserweight Title Ma-...uh...uhh......uhhh.....Kidman vs. Vampiro?
