This update's cartel coin stuff is flat out dumb. Why the heck does the barbershop cost cartel coins for subscribers? This isn't just a 1%er whale feature and it would seriously bring value to having a subscription.

I'm not sure why they didn't ask for some community feedback before pushing out these systems.

Too bad the dev's aren't going to be able to filter the signal from the noise here when it comes to the complaints.

Gotta milk the CCs you get for achievements back out of the system somehow.

There is another cantina on coruscant you can use as well. I want to say its the gambler's den? In the market zone(not the market by the senate)

Which is IMO weird. Shields are a thing, right? Am I insane?

I guess it simplifies their structure for keeping the basic numbers in line. Though, at that rate, I kind of wish they'd reduce the stats to a quality modifier on a basic percentage a la City of Heroes. The diversity of stats is meaningless considering the fact that most gear is slotted for mods anyway. To a point, even the armor classifications are silly, though at least they serve, somewhat, to identify the class of the person you're dealing with--though they are so ornate and interchangeable now, I think number and type of weapons and power effects are easier to see.

How does a shield protect your front and back simultaneously tho?

Shields have their own mechanic, which allows them to block incoming hits on a percentage basis.

If you have two laser swords, you have the ability to be totally defended, but a shield isn't gonna cover you :v:

There actually is a way to unlock money from your escrow now, I believe, in one-time chunks.

(And yes, these unlocks are also available on the GTN.)

When I first heard about these I really expected them to sell for more than they unlocked(50k unlock for 65k, etc)

Can't really do that because the free-to-play people aren't able to afford them very easily. Also they are very cheap in regards to cartel coin cost.

Bioware isn't putting them on the GTN, pubbies are.

So while you can heal a dying rear end in a top hat dictator to make sure he keeps genociding the heck out of the galaxy, or lightning shock a generator for keep a pediatric cancer ward running, it doesn't mean a drat thing. Star Wars logic says they are Light and Dark actions respectively, just because the manner in which the force is manipulated says so. It's like saying an allied soldier in WW2 picking up a Panzerschrek to take out a Tiger is automatically a Nazi.

Mostly true, but there are exceptions. Mace Windu was able to channel Darkside powers without being darkside himself. He basically got all Bene Gesserit to do it tho.

And I haven't tried it personally but I believe you would unlock whatever race you change to unless they've really hosed up the code.

I'd be willing to bet you could unlock all of the races by changing a 50+ to each race individually. Bet the flag isn't there for hitting 50, its there for being 50.

Unlocks have to be triggered by something (in this case hitting level 50) - they don't just check your account every few seconds for level 50s and grant you the appropriate unlocks. The only way race changing could grant you the level 50 unlocks is if they specifically coded it to do so.

I think it actually checks at login. How else do they get these things for people who hit 50 before the unlocks existed?

If you have any launch characters who have not been logged in since launch, when you log them in now, you will get a spam of everything they have done but not gotten the unlock/cheevo for but earned anyway. They had to do this or people who shelled out 200 bux for goodies that didn't exist when they did the $200 bux would be hella pissed off, since the game was not complete at launch.

Anyone have suggestions for how to break up packs in FPs as the tank? I'm having a lot of trouble pulling mobs away from the CC'd mobs, which results in the generally retarded DPS breaking the CCs instantly with AOEs.

Specific advice for lowish (mid-20s) assassins would be handy, but I'll take any advice I can. The plethora of ranged mobs seems designed to make this as irritating as possible.

LOS them if you can, or get people to be better about CCing mobs away from the pack.

Theoretically I can take an early game orange and put 66 or higher mods on it to make it passable for HM flashpoints and the like, yes?

I mean I get how the item/mod system works perfectly fine but is there some hidden drawback to, for example, keeping Flashy until the end of the game and putting endgame mods on it?

No drawback at all. Oranges have no stats, be they level 1 or level 55, they only have the stats their mods give them.
