To get over my OWN skis, though: somebody in that thread said Adam is very OCPD, though, and a light went off. That's seems a very good fit for Adam, though even if I'm not totally wrong he's a high functioning, subsyndromal version.

Not like I have a shortage of podcasts to listen to now that there's little commuting happening, but I just recently stumbled across Jim Jefferies' new-ish one "I Don't Know About That".

I've always liked Jim but haven't followed him since he was doing a podcast from another comedian and roommate's house (Jim and Eddie Talk poo poo), and was kinda wondering how his success had treated him. It's striking how much funnier and less lovely a person he seems to have turned out to be than Adam while being a similarly loquacious curmudgeon. The one or two times I remember him being on the show he was always great, and one of the guests who could out-talk Adam.

Jim is significantly more self aware than Adam. He's also a way better comedian. I think part of Adam's shift comes from a combo of the realization that his fame peaked and his ego (while also being savvy enough to realize the right wing gift is stupid lucrative). Jim's ego is healthy but less noticeable.

I seem to remember Jefferies coming under attack (and I use that term loosely) because people felt his TV show was 'woke'. I think Jefferies is like Bill Burr in that people mistake their jokes for their politics.

I listened to a ton Talking poo poo when I was working on my thesis but kind of forgot about it since then. Like the only thing I remember from it really was that time they had a jerk off contest and busted onto paper plates.

Miss that kind of thing and won't tolerate it in the venue of from an imperious toddler.

It's so sad. It feels like losing a friend to addiction or something. He used to have such good advice, and be such a relatable person. I miss the old Adam before he became Old Man Carolla.
