We are afraid not, sorry. The situation you are in specifically was also not totally foreseeable.

When Tadam searched and could not find him, he prayed to El to help him find his brother and in all of his magnificence Smattas appeared before him and told Tadam that his brother had been consumed by Nehushtan, the fount of all hydras."

"But Smattas warned him that the demons hide was impenetrable to all human weapons and so he would need all of his cunning to avenge his brother. So when Tadam found the terrible demon he challenged it to duel but when the heads all began to bite at him he said it was a cheat and dishonorable and that he only sought to fight Nehushtan, not its many lesser heads and it wished to know which of the heads was truly Nehushtan. Thus he mocked the heads goaded the heads them into fighting each other for each would insist that it alone was the true Nehushtan. And though no sword nor spear could pierce its hide, the jaws of its own heads could and aftered it severed one of its own heads, Tadam lifted the head up and its own jaws to slay the demon, and for this, the land that Tadmor was built upon was blessed."

Ask him, but in private

If I didn't already know who Gideon was and what he's up to OOC I'm 100% sure I would be deeply obsessed with learning more via having Enkidel ask about him. I don't think it's really super dangerous for us to ask in a private setting but even if I did that feels like using OOC knowledge about what the answer is to influence Enkidel. If I didn't already know I'd want Enkidel to ask, so even though I do know and don't need him to ask I still want him to.

Don't: Namedrop demons.
Do: Share any knowledge we think would be helpful in warding off demon cults and mountain demon armies.

It's not a Great City and we're not here to scare them. They asked how to counter the mountain demons and they need to know.
We should also warn them about fire cults as they're extremely dangerous but also easy to identify.
We can avoid getting into details like the size of the demon armies and the scale of destruction they've wrought as those lean into doomsaying without being actionable.

Hm, from a few other replies I think it's just dawning on me that not everyone is on the same page about what Tudiya meant by his restrictions regarding the 'Great Cities'.

I take Tudiya's request of us to mean that when it comes to talking about the demons, we're restricted to doing so only in the Great Cities, and even then only after getting permission from the clergy.

I think some other people take Tudiya's restriction to mean that we're only allowed to talk about demons in the Great Cities after getting permission from the clergy, which is compatible with us being allowed to talk about demons freely anywhere that isn't a Great City.

My interpretation is that we are not supposed be walking around warning people that the demons are coming, and they need to prepare. We're not doing that here. We've been asked to give tactical and strategic advice about a threat the Tadmorans already know about. It's not the same thing, and we aren't forbidden from doing that, anymore than we were forbidden from telling King Jeter that demonic cultists had taken over Karnak.

What do you know about Gideon?
In a socially appropriate manner you speak to Gideon away from the others, just him and you and speak about several topics probably best not spoken of in front of others. Among those topics you ask if he can tell you anything about "Gideon", the king of Mishpat.

"Yes, I know of him. What do you wish to know?"

You have heard that the man has conquered many cities, is it true? What is the man like? You have heard other strange things as well. This is only the second time you have been in this part of the world, certainly the Crown Prince of the Great City of Tadmor can tell you more of him?

"I know of the man. He overthrew the king of Chorazin, a city worthy of being burned to ashes if ever there was one then lead his soldiers to conquer... pretty much every city near him, and has spread out since. We are too far south for the long reach of the man to stretch here. He has brought the Jubilee back to many cities which have long defied it, after a fashion and he has put an end to serfdom... but he has also put an end to slavery entirely, his people mark their flesh and follow other strange ways. I imagine their kingdom will end in ruin eventually, even if he is a great warrior his sons cannot be in every place at once, it is the same lesson my own fathers have learned, a Blooded man may be powerful yet can only be one place at a time, a lessons that he and his sons will learn anew one day I imagine."

The... river monsters?

"Yes, the kelrami. It took time to hunt them all down but one has not been seen in years."

You ask him to tell you more about the river monsters.

"Giant man eating fish that live in the mud at the bottom of rivers."

Wait. You have killed a lot of monsters and faced demons, your people even hunt sea demons and you've never heard of these things. These... these are real. Actually real and not just... something you claimed were killed to convince your people? Some of the Balls of Labaras have found monsters in the interior, but in remote places, not in rivers near cities. The kelrami are real?

"No, they are real. It is strange that you have not heard of them. Were real, anyway. None have been seen in years, we believe we have slain them all."

You have heard of "kelrami" before but were certain they were a myth. Well apparently they DO exist after all, or at least did?

Not very? He is not one of your descendants, he is not one of your people. You get many requests to bless people, you generally decline to do so, you generally won't do it even when people in Kavodel or Zepath ask for it(though you get less requests there).

Besides the kelrami, does any monster trouble your people, or those nearby? We are a monster hunter, let's get working people.

Did the hydra leave any children around?Trying to get info about his manhood trial. But last time Joram told us they don't do them, we have no real reason to specifically bring them up.

Have you been to Baitel? Hve your children?

Would you like us to carry anything to baitel? An object, a message, a person

Have you been to the place where Gamzal stood?

Are there any places nearby that are particularly interesting for men such as us? Ancient places, places where rumours of monsters abound, weird ruins, places with weird energy, etc

[b]Beyond the bnaimokt, what's your main worry right now?

I think Judah's right. Maybe Gideon should call it a day and settle a few cities, not an empire, otherwise he'll stretch his forces. They are probably weaker than Tadmor, and they only control 2 close by cities.
