One thing I remember from the commentary is the notion that Rusty regularly confuses his actual childhood with what was portrayed in the cartoons. Presumably, most other people presume that the cartoon was how it actually happened.

The setup of the Monarch moving to his old home seems to...abrupt. It's all plot setup, without any real comedy payoff, in the end of the finale. In fact, this entire episode seemed to be about connections to the overaching plot of the series...which is kind of strange, all things considered. Not a bad episode, just different.
