Venture Brothers how I've missed thee. :allears:

That episode was hilarious and really encapsulates everything that's great about the Venture Brothers.

Spoiler below obviously:
I really like Billy's new nemesis, there's going to be a lot of hilarity involving those guys in the future.

I don't think he killed the intern, he was just out of phase. Doc probably forgot to put him out of his misery after they shipped anyways.

Remember that post I made about how Operation P.R.O.M was suspiciously full of success for a show about failure? Yeah well this episode, with it's after-prom start up managed to nail every success story.

Brock didn't get the closure he needed from Molotov.

Gary didn't get to enjoy his new found life in the SPHINX club.

Hatred didn't get his Apache flower back.

Well Dean still felt empowered enough to tell the Outrider to go gently caress himself. That's kind of a win right? :unsmith:

Gary could be fine as SPHINX Commander. It certainly seems he's over being a henchman considering how he brushed off the Monarch who was even asking about GoT, which probably would have piqued his interest in any other situation.

I haven't watched Aqua Teen Hunger Force in years, but after catching the end of an episode; I just realized that Master Shake is the Alchemist. The VA uses like the exact same voice, it was kind of strange to hear/see that.

What if Brainulo IS Billy from the future? :tinfoil:

Brainulo himself proclaimed to have been born in the future and was only stranded in 19 lovely 9 because Dr. Venture stole his time machine.

After seeing what sort of person Dr. Venture is though, one has to wonder what sort of trouble he got into with access to a time machine.

You guys are way over thinking this. Everything you need to know about solo deaths is explained by Brock in Ice Station Impossible!

Brock: You're asleep, quick jerk of the neck, never feel a thing.

Hank: You've thought about this.

Brock: Yes, I have.

I think the Investor money was just part of the heart transplant/MD deal.

Which raises the question: so what did the Investors get from Monstroso? They got his heart from King Gorilla in exchange for curing his cancer, but if we've seen what they got from Monstroso, I've forgotten it.

I imagine the Investors got access to his legal expertise and insider knowledge of the Guild. It's a lot easier to make Faustian bargains if you have a lawyer working for you.

Also, going back a few pages and seeing the .gifs, the death of Henchmen Zero is both brutal and hilarious. You could totally tell it was coming when Brock taunted him the first time through. And then Hank coming in and throwing up just completes the scene.

Yeah I'm also pretty sure Mol was bluffing about the escorts being her undercover agents.

I think the director's commentary definitely said the escorts were undercover agents. I'll have to dig out my DVD and see if that's true or not.

I just caught up with Season 6 on Hulu and I can't believe how good they were.

Every episode is amazing, I don't think there's a bad one in the bunch. Hulu only has 9 episodes though, is that all that's been released so far?

Same he’s one of my favorites actually.

All the screentime he got in the last season really added to his character. If you only watch the older seasons he's a joke, but I think he's a slightly better person now.

Hulu is indicating that seasons 1-5 are going away at the end of April, does anyone know if there's another service that's going to be picking up Venture Brothers? Seems really weird since the other Adult Swim content I looked at wasn't. VB was half the reason I signed up for Hulu.

Are you serious? That's pretty much one of the only reasons I signed up for Hulu too is when my old VB DVDs stopped working.

I might have to go with the YouTube purchase idea, at least the internet will never stop working. :downs:

One of those little moments you don't think about is how many people's death sentence got signed when OSI learned that the memory wipe device is really only temporary.

Looking at the potter's field in Rusty's backyard I don't think it's that many more then the usual game between the Guild and OSI. And it's probably not that many people honestly because the improved memory wipe is quite effective on Hank and Dean. And Shoreleave too!

Dr. Orpheus isn't the only person who has successfully brought someone back from the dead. Especially post-Jpad explosion. :gibs:

Space Cadet Omoly posted:

It's a complicated situation: JJ never knew his dad, so he takes the good guy persona that Jonas Sr. Presented to the public at face value and tries to feel closer to him by living up to his (fictional) example. This is, arguably, a good thing because it means JJ actually is as good as Jonas Sr. pretended to be which means he helps a lot of people and strives makes the world a better place. However, this also created a lot of friction between him and his brother because Rusty, who actually did know Jonas Sr., sees his attempts at becoming the new Jonas Sr. as whitewashing history and replacing him as Jonas's son. Of course, JJ is totally unaware of this friction because Rusty is fundamentally incapable of expressing his feelings of insecurity in anyway other than condescending passive aggression.

It also gives a horrific new meaning behind the video where Jonas says his best invention is his son. :gonk:
