yeah you're not supposed to actually be a racist misogynist piece of poo poo when you play a racist misogynist piece of poo poo. so that was depressing to learn.

i also didn't realize charles napier only did the sheriff voice for the first 7 episodes before being replaced by a voice actor who sounded like him, i always thought it was 8 or 9 seasons in closer to his death

so, they can replace him easily, he doesn't write or produce on that show..no clue if they'll do what they did before or just kill the character, or hell comedy option south park chef splice together sound clips and have him self own..

what a moron

I'm amazed Squidbillies is still going on, thought it finished years ago.

Also, Doc thinking Dolly did porn. Brock tried tell him man, but eh...

It's now the longest-running still alive adult swim show at 15 years, somehow. They recorded a bunch of new season stuff back in march on iphones apparently, so again no idea what happens with this show now in terms of when it comes back and what they do with the main character. Fun stuff.

RIP VB, ATHF (15 and 14 years old respectively) :negative:

The epilogue of Gargantua 2 being a youtube thing and not in the episode itself always baffled me. It sets up the premise of the next 2 seasons, kind of important you'd think.

I never saw the pilot until a recent watch through. I'm still expecting them to bring back the characters from that in the finale or something.

The dark horse book going out of print bums me out. It's a great book, it should get reprints! Maybe whenever they get a special out.

unfortunately it's out of print and $500 you have a collectors item now.

as someone who buys oop poo poo and never pays over cover price, here's a pro tip. create a few saved search terms like "venture HC" "venture brothers book" etc. Not everyone is a scalper/flipper and you'll see the occasional thing pop up with an alert of a normal person with a generic listing (on ebay, but also try mercari, offerup, etc etc etc)

also, check book stores around you, this thing was mass printed and even last year was 30 bucks. there are copies collecting dust on shelves for cover price

gently caress paying more then that though

I have a copy, I'd do the hunt thing and wait if I wanted one. It's just not as straight forward as it has been of go on Amazon and get it in the morning.

it's in that limbo of half the ebay listing are three digits and half are what the book is actually worth

so ideally it isn't waiting around long, and just catch one on ebay for a normal price. harder to get yeah, but still not crazy hard like most OOP artbooks

e: I could also see a world where it gets a re-print around the same time as the special/movie comes out. I have other DH books that went OOP and then got a reprint 5-10 years later. If that doesn't happen, I don't see this thing getting a 2nd printing otherwise though :(

Everyone. Buy like 12 copies of the movie when it comes out. Maybe we can have a repeat of this.

https://www.ign.com/articles/aqua-teen-hunger-force-returning-to-adult-swim-after-8-years

that newest movie was kinda rough. 80 min of a cohesive plot mocking amazon/bezos sounds like it should have been gold on paper, but ehhhh. 11 min eps are the perfect format for that thing...VB though, I have no doubt will work beautifully in a feature-length format.

All of the commissioned adult swim movies are going to be physical release + digital purchase first.

What I'm saying is that if you want ANY hope of anything further, buy the gently caress out of the VB movie when it goes up for sale.

The extras will be worth buying a disc version anyway

I would also buy the poo poo out of a complete series blu-ray set, seems like a no-brainer for WBD..you'd think
