Man, the adorable relationship between The Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend is the best part of this show.

Ghosts of the Sargasso may not be quite the best episode of The Venture Brothers, but it's an incredible stand-alone story that captures the soul and style of the show remarkably well.

I just didn't like King of the Hill.

Or Seinfeld, for that matter.

I loved Arrested Development, though, so go figure.

Oh, and Venture Brothers. I love Venture Brothers. Which this thread is ostensibly about.

Arrested Development isn't just about the terrible people, it's about the intricate interactions and thematic coherence around those people.

Like the magnum opus of a master watchmaker.

EDIT: Season 4 sucks though.

There are good jokes in Season Four but it fails to cohere the way Season 2 (best season) does.

A large part of that is the fact that they had trouble getting the whole ensemble in a room together.

I have this to say: SQQQQUUUUEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In more detail, that was freaking amazing, at first I was kinda pissed off that they killed most of the Council of 13 right after introducing most of them last season, but seeing where they went with it was worth it, also RIP JJ, Treister, Zero, and that Council member who looked like a Kamen Rider

Also looks like Season 6's big plots will probably be Doc having a chance at success(whether or not he screws up is another thing entirely), the Guild will probably be trying to fix things up with the OSI, and EVERYONE will probably be hunting after The Sovereign(since with the Investors dead, he's probably the most dangerous being alive in the eyes of both the Guild, and OSI)

Kamen Rider Councilmember was great.

Also the Soverign's dead, the OSI/Sphinx (SPHINX!) sniper shot him.

Johnny Quest is canon within the Venture Bros universe. In the Mystery Inc. cartoon series, Johnny Quest is also canon. This means that Johnny Quest, Venture Bros and Mystery Inc. all take place within the same universe.

The Thing the latest episode tried to express is that the Sovereign is (or was) no more "above" the general atmosphere of failure and frustration than anyone else on the show (except maybe Killenger). They did the same for JJ.

The Dr. Sovereign Mrs. The Monarch.

The Guild and O. S. I. Are run by a woman who sounds like a man and a man who was once a woman. And they are going to have a clandestine meeting at some point.

Does The Dr. Sovereign Mrs. The Monarch really have such a "masculine" voice, especially in more recent seasons? It's certainly a non-conventional voice for the character design but it mostly sounds like an old chain-smoking lady more than just "hurr sounds like a dude" like in the earlier stuff.
