Intrepid00 posted:Pretty sure they didn't know cause they thought the one guy really was on the moon till they saw him in the hallway. Which is weird since Vendetta wandered into the wrong both trying to help. I think that is the whole joke. They have this rule not to know who they are but most people put more effort into protecting a 4 digit pin to their garage door than the guild does to protect the council. In the episode where Dragoon and Red Mantle got stitched together, they earnestly say that they can't help because they don't even know where the other ones are. It does make it clear that those two are in the same place, but they seem to actually not know.

I'm happy with the way the show is now big enough to pick some subset of characters to focus on each episode. It is a good way to change up the pace. The show has come a long way since "Doc, Brock, and the Boys go on an adventure each week". Obviously an OSI spinoff would be great but the creators only have so much time on their hands. Plot things that will be resolved next season(I'm guessing): - More OSI stuff - guild, something with Headshot/Brock/Amber, investors - Something with the Revenge Society - it's pretty weird that they were only seen once, post-credits - Hank and Dean maybe being closer next season? This one is a guess. I miss them doing things together.

Shindragon posted:And whoever said the whole season was weak, you are crazy. It was great. Granted it was more about Hank growing up more than Dean, I felt that was appropriate. Season 4 was more of Dean's growth more so than Hank. Is this a reference to the Zeus episode where Doc describes Dean as "believing this stuff" while Hank "fights against it"? I loved that scene because I thought it was funny/dark that Doc seemed to get it backwards. I really thought season 4 was solid Hank growth(hair growing, making a friend, getting laid), and this season was more about Dean(even if he was pretty angry and directionless). Given that, I'm curious as to how you see the opposite.

Gary rebuilt it the first time with the people he and 24 recruited, and the moppets had the henchmen do it the second time. Cocoon rebuilding season premieres are pretty standard. I don't think the moppets are dead, and I think they work for Phantom Limb still. I bet there will be another showdown with them in season 6.

It's so harsh how both of them were forced to forget their successes with women.

Mr. Nice! posted:Brock didn't kill the other boys. They both have 13 explained dual deaths in the show, Dean has a solo death in the montage and Hank has two. Honestly, Hank is probably just on a later clone or there's some unwritten time Dean died. There was the deformed Dean who lived in the attic. Also I think they said they had died 14 times in season 2. Did they die at all in season 3? Jeffrey of YOSPOS fucked around with this message at 04:57 on Jul 29, 2013 |

Farmer Crack-rear end posted:I rewatched the old Brisby episode and I got the impression that if Congress hadn't outlawed cloning technology, Rusty's career might have been on a completely different track. Honestly, given how well the clone slugs work, Rusty's cloning tech would be revolutionary; if he was able to prevent brain development altogether, he could mass-produce organs for transplants. Or make custom slugs for wealthy individuals who want a whole personal backup set of "spare parts". Yeah, his cloning/memory storage project is actually quite noble, and I think he would have been a bad(worse) father if he hadn't done it despite being capable. Not only did he prevent their deaths, he also can cure genetic diseases and similar genetic issues. Rusty's attitude toward death seems to very clearly be the right one, and it being illegal is a grave injustice in ventureland. Also, presumably the boys still can't die. They don't have bodies ready but their memories should be safely stored in the venture computer. Jeffrey of YOSPOS fucked around with this message at 19:05 on Jul 31, 2013 |

Still, seems like a better fate than having only one human body and actually dying when it's destroyed. The learning beds' memory saving/restoring was an even better invention than the clones.

BooDoug187 posted:I think part of it is that people just expect him to be some super genius because his dad was. It even shows that when he was little he didn't want to be a boy adventurer but his dad didnt care, and I bet when Rusty was teen/college age dad forced him into the super science thing. Rusty's laziness seems more like his way of rebelling than anything thing else. Now these last two seasons we see Rusty growing up. He is trying to get his life together but he has a very long way to go! His dad almost seemed to relish forcing him into it, like it was a fun game to torture him. "When your father turned from role model to tormentor rival" and stuff. Of course it doesn't stop Rusty from doing it to Dean, but Dean at least has a spine now and can say no. Also eliminating death is like the best scientific achievement possible, and while I'm sure his dad/Ben did most of the work, having the stones to implement it to protect his family is pretty noble and awesome.
