Are they getting a roughly hour and a half long finale? probably not—when you burn in timecode, the actual episode or whatever traditionally starts at 1 hour so you have time before that to add in the leader that contains info on whatever's about to start. i think most modern editing systems will let you do negative timecode instead, but i've never seen that used in an actual for-TV post-production environment.
