So one of my classes is buzzing around in a Frasca sim. Today was practicing standard rate turns. I already have my ppl so this is all pretty rudimentary stuff, I decided to have some fun with it.

Finally got a 2nd throttle quadrant to do multiengine stuff and a new multi-head monitor adapter, time to get in to IFR. Also, now that I am going to start doing IFR stuff and need my iPad for charts and plates, what's a good cheap android tablet I can run flightgauge on? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vrs.flightgauge

I've finally got my setup pretty much where I want it (minus a more powerful computer, but that's more than I can afford at the moment) Just added a 2nd throttle quadrant and the X52.

So I am compiling FSX sat map textures for a good portion of the southwest with FSEarthTiles if anyone wants me to put together a torrent when it's all said and done. I will have the Grand Canyon and all of Colorado at 1m/px resolution and all of Oklahoma and a portion of Kansas, as well as the route between Colorado and the Grand Canyon, at 2m/px resolution. It's going to be a big motherfucker once it's all done though, CO textures alone are looking like they're going to be well north of 100gb. It will be absolutely gorgeous though. Here's a quick sketch of what I am mapping out.

Also once I am done with all of these I can take requests for other areas if anyone is interested.

Finally finished mapping out Colorado with FSEarthTiles and have started on the Grand Canyon at 1m/px resolution. Should take about 3-4 days to finish. I'll zip it and make a torrent when it's done. Also worked Meteor Crater in there too.

I already use Holger's Grand Canyon, and unless you're doing meshing and an update on KGCN I'm not likely to want to switch for that, but the rest is of interest (especially Meteor Crater) Yeah the BGLs all have the lat/long of the areas they cover in the filename, you can just delete the parts you don't want.

Mederlock posted:So what's that gonna mean in in-game terms compared to the default stuff? Will the terrain have better resolution textures, or is it more of a topographical accuracy improvement? It will just look prettier, actual satellite maps for textures, no randomly generated terrain textures. This is what it looked like with the MegaSceneryEarth textures, the ones I made should be a good bit higher resolution. http://imgur.com/XNzOIKl http://imgur.com/UVtDShN fake edit: I'll get some screenshots of my textures tonight.
