my friend got me some really nice prismacolor pencils for christmas and I don't really know how to use them yet but I drew a pokemon she likes because it was a very nice gift my scanner loving murdered the texture of this, are there any settings/filters I can change to make colored pencil scan better? I don't really want to spend like half an hour blurring parts to fix the insane contrast

do crowquills actually get nice to use if you buy nice expensive ones, every time I've tried one I hated it they were always so spattery and would skitter around on the bristol and drip ink. That looks nice although I would recommend using a non sharpie felt tip since they tend to bleed worse than say a pilot felt tip

Zoben posted:I've used crowquills for like 25 years. Regular Hunt 102 tips. Paying more doesn't increase the quality of the line. I haven't had problems with spattering since I was 14 or so. It has to do with technique and not the equipment. cool maybe ill try them again someday, p sure those are the exact ones i\I've got in a box somewhere I drew this a while ago but never posted it in here

I haven't done a actual legit portrait since college I'm kind of afraid to try since I remember being pretty good at them but that was by teenager 'only kid in class who cared about art' standards

im forcing myself to start sketching in pen so I can get better at being quick, line economy, moving the gently caress on instead of noodling the same doodle for 45 minutes, etc.

Unfortunately I’ve never found a white ink that worked on black the same way black ink works on white paper, part of why leaving the white lines you want un-inked is such a valuable skill. If you’re actually doing a lot of the linework in white I don’t know if you’ll be able to find anything that’s as good as you’d want outside of using white paint and a superfine brush
