Wouldn't force touch have been really awesome on this? It's a little surprising that it's not in the pro.

I agree, I wouldn't have upgraded my Air 2 for another two years had it not been for the Pro. The Pro is so blazing fast and has enough RAM to make this thing good for a LONG time.

Yeah I wasn't planning on upgrading my Air for a while but this Pro tempted me enough to make the switch.

I had some gift cards sitting around and I decided to get the smart keyboard for the pro and I'm very happy with it. I've only been using it for about an hour but drat it feels good. It's one of the better keyboards I've used that's for sure. $170 bucks is a lot to spend that's for sure though.

Edit: Also pretty nice that command + tab brings up an app switcher like Windows.

Another one I found is if you hold the command button it brings up a list of available shortcuts for the app you are in. The awful app guys need to add some shortcuts for reals.

Yeah pretty much this. It really doesn't fold back very well at all. I like it when I need the keyboard but I rarely keep it attached.

It's always taken my Pro a long rear end time to charge no matter which amp charger I use. I think it's just because it's battery is loving huge. Thats one of the only downsides to the drat thing that I have with it though.

The pencil though holy poo poo the battery in that thing seems to last forever and a day. I really don't use it much but I swear it will last for a month just laying there on my nightstand with the iPad.

It's hard to say honestly. I just checked the Mac Rumors buying guide and they don't even list the Air line anymore. The Air 2 is still a solid device if you are getting a good deal on it. I'm not sure I'd pay full price for it though if you are getting a great deal then buy it but if not then maybe wait if you can or get the Pro 9.7.

What do you guys think of the smart cover keyboard for the Pros? When I was buying my 9.7 I tried its keyboard and found the keys super cramp and had trouble touch typing. The full size pro's keyboard felt the same size as the magic keyboard on my iMac. I don't mind using Pages and Office on the iPad as they seem full fledged. Pondering if I could get used to the 9.7 keyboard size.

I'm waiting on seeing when they announce the new rMBPs. If it's still going to take a while I might grab a keyboard.

Also, does it have enough support so you can type on your lap (nuts) or do you need a flat table top surface?

I really like the Smart Keyboard (I'm using it to to type this out). I haven't used the keyboard for the 9.7 but I really love the larger one. It does provide enough support to type on your nuts (Also what I'm doing right now). My only complaint with it is when you fold it back and aren't using it the thing feels a little unwieldy so I regularly take it off if I'm not going to be doing any typing. It's not too big of an issue though because of how easy it snaps on and off.

The Smart Keyboard for the 12 is awesome and I'm glad that I bought it.

I've been using the Smart keyboard quite a bit and one thing that keeps throwing me off when I use my MacBook is that I try to tap the space bar twice to add a period but it does nothing...

Its weird but tapping twice to add the period is a very natural thing.

How many of you are iPad Pro (13") owners who don't have any work or comic related usage for it? I really like the idea of the bigger screen to watch videos on when I'm in bed or in the bath but I'm curious what people find good/bad about it for other purposes.

For comparison, I'm currently using an iPad Air 1, so perhaps the split-screen thing would be good for holiday planning when I'm not in front of my PC.

I love mine. I don't use it for work and I moved up from an air 1.

No regrets.

How high risk is buying an open-box Apple Pencil from Best Buy? I got a 50 dollar giftcard laying around and open box Pencils range from 70-80, which translates to at most 30 out of pocket. Worst case scenario, I'd probably need to buy some more tips in the near future, right?

Shouldn't be an issue. I've bought a few open box things and never had a problem. It should come with an extra tip.
