100% truth. He knows he's not supposed to go in there. As soon as I opened the door, he started looking for a non-obvious escape route...when he couldn't find one, he went into "OMG I'M CUTE AND SORRY" mode. Usually he crawls under the fence, but I bought some cheap tent stakes (I was buying camping gear anyway) and staked it down, so now he just jumps over it when he thinks he's alone. Edit: This morning he slept on the bed after the girlfriend left for work. We slept until loving 9:30. He is a pro loving dog.

He's pretty much grown out of chewing on shoes, pissing/making GBS threads in the house, and trying to eat the couch though. I expected these all to be issues for much longer. He occasionally freaks out on pillows, but digging in the yard/that loving mud hole are his biggest behavioral issues. He's awesome.

Ok, so we went camping this weekend with some family, went up Thursday morning, came back Sunday morning...it's only about an hour drive away. Logan had a blast and wore himself out to the point that he slept for the next two days. There's a river next to the site, something he's never seen before. He was a bit apprehensive but willing to see what the deal was.  And he loved it, particularly when there was a stick involved.    Returning to his wild roots (until he got hungry or tied up in his lead):  Fortunately I bought myself a new chair, since Logan decided to claim this one as his own.  Not a dog, but there are apparently 4 others roaming the area including a mom/baby (also a bear somewhere in the area). Fortunately we didn't see them.

Logan lost both lower canines yesterday sometime. He had them in the morning, they were gone in the evening. Edit: That white nub is the new one...they're both coming through like that already. I guess next will be the uppers, I *think* they're the last baby teeth, but it's hard to tell since he's not the most cooperative dental patient. Letting him bite your hand is pretty much the only way to get a glimpse.

Logan's upper canines are coming in already...they're sticking out further than the lowers, but the baby ones haven't come out yet. Probably the next couple of days, I guess.

They're popular herding dogs...which is to say, if you go to a breeder you can expect 4-digits. From a shelter/rescue, there's probably no difference from one breed to the next...it's mostly set fees, like adoption fee, fee for you to impose a gender, etc.

Went camping again this weekend. Logan almost got in a fight with an unteathered aggressive yellow lab (wtf? seriously, this lab was an rear end in a top hat). The lab charged my girlfriend, who was walking to the restroom in the middle of the night and brought Logan so he could take a leak and hopefully sleep let us sleep late. Logan went into gently caress YOU I'M A GERMAN SHEPHERD mode and the lab backed off. Logan's adult canines are nubs at the moment, and all four baby canines fell out several days ago. Here he is pretending to be a wild animal (you can see one ear, just left of center in the large shadowed area).  And here he is sleeping while sitting up on the drive home.

I told Logan to "go to bed" last night, and instead of going in his crate or hiding on the far side of the bed (he'd rather sleep on the AC vent and hog all the cold air), he did this: I put the pillow in his crate, and he went right in and laid against it again.

Logan story: He was laying on the AC vent and his tags dangled inside...when he got up he pulled the whole thing out and proceeded to flip the gently caress out because "WHAT THE gently caress IS DANGLING FROM MY THROAT?!?" If it wasn't 5am it would've been pretty entertaining.
