Needless to say, he didn't get it, but the interviewers loved him, so a few weeks later they offered him another position that had just come available. So it's not impossible, but I wouldn't bank on it.

When companies say things like "we'll keep your resume on file for future consideration", how often do they actually get back to people in that position? 0%? 0.0%?
