A boy and his dog.
Demeter charges out of the drop-pod and starts cutting down the tech-priests. His first victims die before they can see what's happening. Carving a path through the workers with his sword, he heads towards what looks like a control station, blowing off the neck of a panicked adept hurriedly trying to activate the servitors. Brego follows behind him and quickly takes the dead tech-adept's place at the control station. Connecting his MIU to the cogitator, he breaks into the Adeptus Mechanicus repair facility's internal network. Though everything is in a language alien to him, he smashes his way through the repair station's not too sophisticated security system and replaces the vox frequency the servitors are programmed to receive orders form with one of his own. When he sends a test signal to the servitors, a few dozen of the less damaged servitors activate.

Wraith tosses his bundle of bleeder grenades into the crowd of civilians gathering to watch a building burn. When the grenades explode and shred over a dozen people into a bloody mess, the rest of the crowd panics, scattering away screaming and confused. A pair of skitarii enforcers come running from behind a corner, see the mess Wraith's grenades caused, and and start herding those too dumbstruck to flee of their own volition away from the scene.

Noticing that the relatively small number of intact servitors being prepared for shipping are not among those that respond to Brego's hijacking attempt, one of the mechanicus adepts darts for the loading area, reaching for a smaller control panel near the side of a large door. Presuming whatever the adept is trying to do to be not in your favour, Phovos levels the usually tank-mounted cannon and fires it in the general direction of the loading area. The explosion destroys most of the shipping-ready servitors, three of the nearest tech-priests, and a large section of the building's northern wall.

As a section of the wall crumbles, you can see panicked tech-priests and menial labourers fleeing into the rest of the town. Between the buildings, you can see a titanic form explode in a bright flash far in the distance, just above the horizon. From his rooftop vantage point, Wraith can see a group of people head your way from the now burning slums to the north, barely distinguishable even to his augmented senses.

As the two enforcers outside guide the last civilians away from the scene of slaughter, two red Rhinos swerve to the front of the building. A squad of skitarii jumps out from each and spreads around the hole in the wall and the building's doors, readying weapons. A large skitarii officer with plumes on their head yells at you through a voice synthesiser built into their neck, speaking simultaneously in techna-lingua and low gothic. "Rebel scum, you are surrounded. Disarm yourselves and submit."

Brego gains a magnitude 30 horde of slightly damaged Praetorian combat servitors. There are two squads of 10 disposable mooks each, with Rhinos, telling you to surrender. There is a larger skitarii force heading your way somewhere to the north, past the titan foundry, but they're five kilometres away.

Demeter The Shattered

Demeter quickly flicks blood and oil off his force sword as the "drones" take up positions outside. The Blood Raven in his still unpainted armor takes a position behind some near-by cover and draws his untested stalker bolter. He reaches into the warp, letting it guide his aim to best shoot the Praetorian talking at them through the Vox, takes off the head and all that.

Okay using free action Precog strike at Unfettered since pushing is for crazy irresponsible psykers. TN is 60(psy +10)+15(Psy rating of 3)+10(psy focus)-10(test difficulty)=75. I will get a +15 bonus on my next BS or WS attack if I succeed.

Then half action aim and fire at the "leader". TN is 40+10(red dot)+10(half aim)+10(accurate)=70, 85 if I pass my focus power test.

Will use precog dodge at unfettered if attacked in range. TN is 50(perception)+15(psy rating)+10(psy focus)-10(test difficulty)=65

Demeter activates his vox to communicate with their new Colleague outside while he draws a bead on the leader of the Mechanicus forces, "Yes, but not all of us have jump packs. Capturing them intact should be a priority."

Always trying to interrupt his work...

With a wave of his hand, Brego sends the servitors out to deal with the Imperial forces. The networked drones all begin to march in silent lockstep to carry out his order. The vehicles are more boon than bane, however. Useful for camouflage as the squad makes its way to their destination.

"Kill the humans. Spare their rhinos."

Brego puts away his pistol and brings up his heavy weapon. The smoking mouth of the dragon barrel is just itching to spit death at his enemies.

Pulling out the Reaper, half aim and semi-auto burst at the group of mooks not being mauled by Phovos. To hit = 59 vs 70. 10 DOS means all 4 hit for 3d10+8 Impact at Pen 6.

A boy and his dog.
As you descend on the skitarii enforcer squads, they hold their nerve admirably. Some of the troopers turn to run, but are swiftly brow-beaten back into line by their superiors, who seem foolhardy in their decision to stand and fight against an enemy they have no hope of beating. The fight doesn't last long, Demeter's warp-guided bolter shell exploding inside the head of a skitarii officer moments before Phovos pulverizes the dead man's squad-mates with his titanic fists. The remaining skitarii concentrate their fire on Phovos, but all they achieve is slightly heating a few of the armour plates on his legs, the hellgun shots failing to come anywhere near to piercing it. Brego levels his atocannon at the remaining group, and fires four rounds into four different targets. The servitors, damaged as they are, quickly overwhelm the remaining handful.

You cram yourselves into one of the Rhinos, with Brego plugging himself into the drivers seat. While the rest of the party drives off in a Rhino, Phovos takes to the sky and flies after Wraith. As you leave the landing site, Brego transmits an order to spread out within a few city blocks and shoot anything that moves. They wouldn't be a serious threat to the inevitable armed response, but they'd serve as a distraction while you head towards your actual target.

Flying ahead of the Rhino, Wraith sees a problem ahead. Still hidden by the cloud cover and perpetual light sandstorm covering the planet, Wraith signals for Phovos to slow down and pull up. Below you is a military checkpoint, and to both sides you can see similar observation posts in the distance. Wraith's auspex detects increased levels of electromagnetic radiation emitting from the checkpoint and the observation posts, with much of it transmitted towards the other points of origin but scattered by atmospheric interference. It doesn't require much familiarity with mechanicus strategy to identify a perimeter guard outside a site of great importance. At the observation post, nearly a hundred skitarii exit the box-like buildings and gather outside rhinos in neat formations. The earliest groups embark on their vehicles and start heading south-west, in the direction you're coming from.

You're about 1500 metres from the edge of the void shield, 800m from the checkpoint. Phovos and Wraith are high in the sky a couple hundred metres ahead of you. The weather is poor and full of sand, so there's some visual cover in areas that don't have cover from nearby buildings or void shields.

Demeter takes his seat inside the Rhino, glad that they had some somewhat stable transportation for a change; a Rhino beats being left in the void or a gel coated atmospheric insertion any day. As the message is received from the two fliers, Demeter comments, "Should we try to talk our way through the checkpoint? Well, fuck. Really?
Ahemait

It had been a long, deep meditation that Ahemait had enjoyed since entering the rhino. He had been conscious of the small skitarii threats that had come up along the way, but nothing had truly needed him to rouse from his connection with the warp. The tinkerer, the giant, and the plotter were plenty for the trifles that had come about, though he kept himself at the brink of reality should the others need him. However, each time, he was able to relax and sink back into his visions. However, with the current argument and the issue ahead, he flutters his eyes open, taking in a deep, ragged breath of air; the coolness soothes the heat in his chest from his lax breathing, and he shakes his head to clear it away. He glances towards Demeter, raising an eyebrow.

"Conning an army would be more difficult than a single man, as wont to admit it as I am, though I am most certainly up to the challenge." He smiles brilliantly as he digs a tome attached to his belt by a chain from beneath his cloak, patting it gently. The writing upon it is beautiful and inlaid with gold filigree, and seems to move before the eyes. "You were not the only one to benefit from the sage's library, Blood Raven. A tome of beguiling and mesmerizing, tricks and incantations with which to win, quite literally, the hearts and minds of your foes." He flips through the pages slowly, showing pages of elegant font and imprints of Imperial Saints and their ilk that appear slightly heretical under further examination. "It flows and reads like poetry, and brings to minds the hymnals and litanies that we were indoctrinated with so many millennia ago, but they twist ever so lightly away from the Imperial Creed." He grins at this before shutting the book, chaining it back to his belt.

"If you wish to simply move through them unhindered, then let me speak gilded words with a silken tone; they will embrace me as a saintly marine if I so wish them to, but truth be told, I also yearn for the exhilaration of combat. It has been too long since I have shown Slaanesh the speed and passion of my dancing." Ahemait glances away from Demter, looking out the viewport. "I suppose we should decide quickly, then; if need be, I can take to the skies with Phovos and Wraith and begin preaching the gospel and the coming of the psychic savior that will purify the titans for their campaign." He gives the sorcerer a sly grin before donning his silver helmet.

Demeter folds his hands before him and smiles under his helmet, glad that Ahemait was once again joining them, Slaaneshi could be so...flighty at times. "The Mighty Ahemait deigns to bless us with his presence! I hope we were not too loud so as to disturb your little reverie." He glances over at the book that the other sorcerer is flipping through, "Well, I hope that book of yours has an addendum on how to win the hearts and minds of the Machine Cult; I think speaking at them about the Emperor will only serve to make them more ready to fire upon us, or at least that's been my observation based on past encounters with them," he strokes his helmeted chin, "Oh wait, that was because Samira had blown up their generators! I forget these things sometimes!"

Though Ahemait suggests and alternative course of action, before the merits of each plan debated at adequate length, the skitarii convoy starts moving and the group has to make a quick decision. Realising that there's no time to disarm the already buried explosives, by a majority decision uncharacteristically democratic for their kind the squad elects to withdraw from what Brego and Wraith estimate to be the skitarii's expected passive detection range in the current conditions, and wait. The wait wasn't long, and shortly after the team settles down to observe, a shockwave disturbs the dust suspended in the wind, followed almost immediately by the tell-tale rumble of explosions.

When the squad moves in to investigate the results of their improvised minefield, they find a the skitarii approximately 60 skitarii survivors disembarking from their vehicles and forming defensive perimeters around the tech-priests performing emergency repairs on the severely damaged Rhinos. Arranged in 10 groups of 4 to 6 survivors each, the skitarii are forming up around their rhinos, all of which are immobile but some of which still have obviously operational weapons. Though none of the skitarii show signs of having spotted you yet, it is clear that they would have warned the forward base they left from, and that they might notice you if you approached the guard post.

Decision time: fight the skitarii, go for the guard station without engaging the skitarii, risking a fight on two fronts, or head straight for the titan forge's void shields.

Unless you think you can still bluff past that, we should probably take these poor souls." He pulls out his stalker bolter and looks down the sight.

Wraith
"Stay on mission. I will terrorize the survivors and draw the reinforcements they undoubtedly called for to their position."
With that, Wraith becomes one with the desert as he sneaks up on the skitarii and seeks to engage them up close, diving in and out of their ranks and killing whatever he can without being pinned down.

Well, fuck. Really?
Ahemait

The Slaaneshi sorcerer simply gives his Tzeentchian counter-part a wry grin. "I had entertained the thought you would claim this is 'all according to plan', Demeter. It is amusing to know even the Lord of Change can be surprised and caught off guard." Ahemait chuckles, drawing his blades from their scabbards at his waist and giving them an elegant twirl. He crosses them together and peers across the battlefield at the gathered skitarri through the wedge they make, before sliding the blades across each other with a metallic whisper. "Ah, Brego did fine work balancing these. It has been far too long since I let myself become entranced in combat."

Striding forward, Ahemait rolls his shoulders, letting his white, feathery wings unfurl behind him. He poises himself to take flight but pauses, turning his head to the other sorcerer. "Do be careful, Demeter. It would be a shame to lose one with a link to the warp such as yourself; I dare say none of our fellows know the thrill and the power of it and it would be such a bore to quibble with a Khornate." He turns back, hurtling into the air with a beat of his wings, taking to the skies to pursue Phovos and Wraith.

I intend to manifest The Six Blades of Prosepheron: -20 Test, capable of two lightning attacks per turn, attacks do not have -10 penalty but have a bonus equal to 5xDoS on focus test. Lasts rounds equal to Psy Rating (4) or until a lightning attack is not made. Suffer 1d5 fatigue at end of spell. I am testing against 60 WP (60-20+20,) and I have Unnatural WP 6 to count towards DoS. Hopefully I can spill over extra attacks to the skitarii around me so I can be an actual blender.

I have a fear rating of 3, but if these morons are devout followers of the Emperor, I have Fear 4. I will test at 75 + a minimum of 35 on lightning attacks, hitting with both swords, up to 24 attacks per round. X GON' GIVE IT TO YA

You ever do the chicken dance at a wake? That really bothers people.
Brego

"I strive for excellence, sorcerer. If we all do the same, we shall succeed."

The chosen hefts his favored weapon effortlessly. The giant twin-barreled autocannon is well maintained though he hasn't yet been able to begin its upgrades. Soon enough. The warband's continued success would gather them plenty of resources to further his plans. Entire worlds of blueprint and design run through Brego's head these days. The sonic weapon he had created for the siren was merely the first.

"If we are to attack, I can lay down fire in support of the charge."

Readying a half-aim and semi-auto burst at the enemy. BS 70 to hit with +7 DoS should be enough to hit 4 times if I hit with one.

#acolyte GM of 2013
Demeter The Shattered

Demeter laughs, "Oh Ahemait, if it went truly to plan, those Snake Bastards would not have crashed into the void shields, so I could have ended their arrogance personally. This, this is just Chaos, and we psykers, we are the true masters of Chaos." He looks out over the battlefield as he begins to reach into the warp so he can see the different futures and pick one, "You know Ahemait, I see at least 52 different possible futures where you fall in this combat, and only 15 involve friendly fire." He smiles under his helmet, "Look out for any shadows, that'd be our giant friend coming down, one of your possible deaths leaves you rather worse for ware."

Well, fuck. Really?
Waci has asked me to update this game since she hasn't been able to, so I'm trying to get some of her plans together so I can press us forward.

Maybe reminding her of that will make her update anyways :v:
