What the gently caress did they think was going to happen?  Thread rules: - don't post any gore or footage of people dying and try to avoid posting people being really severely injured. Remember that the spoiler tags don't work on images for some people so anything gross should be either linked or just not posted. - Try to keep it lighthearted. Don't start arguments and don't poo poo up the thread with smugposts (eg: posting a photo of Bush or Obama being inaugurated and saying "Here's a photo of the US people loving up"). - Feel free to post additional information if someone posts a picture and you know the back story, or if a similar thing has happened in your experience and you have some insight on the matter.        I love all the people's faces in that last photo.

The whole Alien: Colonial Marines-debacle was pretty funny. Gearbox, the studio, had hyped the game to high heaven. Particularly the CEO, Randy Pitchford. How fantastic it was going to be, how it was an official part of the alien canon and so on. When it finally comes out, after five years development, it stinks. People are cancelling their preorders in droves. As it turns out, the studio spent most of those five years (and a pile of Sega's money) finishing up Duke Nuke-um Forever, which was also a turd. Not that long ago I was pulling into my driveway and noticed that my normally quiet street had about 8 people in total walking their dog, jogging, or bike riding. It was like 3 different groups of people but for this one moment, they all gathered up in front of my house as they were passing each other. The kids riding the bikes were like 12 maybe 13, and one of them was riding just close enough to smack his face on my neighbors mailbox. He face planted on the driveway and took the box down with him. Everyone, including the dogs, stopped to stare at him in worry. Seven people on a quiet street making sure he was alright. Yet not one person in this crowded lobby cares that this dude just broke his back.

Here's one of my personal favourites: people trying to eat Surströmming. Now, usually when eating challenges come up it's just some chili like naga morich or some silly rear end "Eat a hundred eggs" thing. Not this one. See, surströmming is a delicacy from our western neighbours, Sweden. What it essentially is is fermented herring. That's been rotting in a can for a year. Now, let's think about that for a moment. Dead fish rotting in a can for a year. An airtight can. You might think it's going to smell pretty bad. Like, bad enough that the makers and distributors of this delicacy advise to never open the cans indoors. Minor correction: they spent that time and money making Borderlands 2, which is generally considered to be pretty decent. They actually spent so much money picking up DNF from 3D Realms that they couldn't afford to really change anything, just patch together what was there and release it as-is (which is presumably why they defrauded Sega for money to make BL2).

I hate my boss. He drives a souped-up, smoke-tuned F-250 diesel that he talks about like it's the hottest thing on 4 wheels. He's pushing 50 and still drives like I did when I was a dumb teenager, pulling full throttle out of his parking spot (or any time he's stopped) and leaving a big smoke cloud in his wake. So it was all I could do to contain my laughter last week when he drove back from another store with his rear windshield busted. They were throwing out some old product displays, and he was loading the shelving into his bed to take it in for scrap. He threw one piece a little too high, it bounced out of his bed and punched straight through the glass all the way across. He had to use packing tape to hold it together and seal it against the rain for the drive home. The best part? Since it's not a front windshield it's not free replacement, and it was just a hair over his $500 deductible so most of the cost was out of pocket.
