There actually isn't much left to do... I just need to pull in a couple of address pins so you can set the current row/column and row/column wrap (like on an ili9341). Most of the project was fighting with the vagaries of the SDK documentation, lack of simple examples that combined stuff like side setting, and I/O on several pins. I spent several hours discovering that I needed to connect side set, wait, and jmp pins to the GPIO and not just the PIO.

Also documentation, because this is something other people might want to build on.

well, i finally finished my frankenma lighting console. i'm very happy with how it turned out. thanks to my buddy simon who let me use his cnc to machine the holes. had to write some code in c# to interface with the grandma software.

i want to order some custom printed black keycaps that allows to pass the light through. my stickers on transparent keys solution isn't great

I don't know what that does but it looks really really nice (and nicely done). Knobs, buttons, and sliders that you put together yourself are extra satisfying to use.

oh yeah, the knobs feels great. they're so heavy you barely feel the click on them, which is a good thing. the original gma 2 consoles have terrible knob feel.

you can get a bracket that lets you mount a sideways fan over all the cards to avoid cooking the 10g nic, a lot of those server cards expect to have air funnelled across them by the chassis and most tower cases have a nasty dead spot for air circulation at the pci slots

the case i've got (Lian Li PC-A71FB) has two 120mm fans in the front that pushes air through the chassis over the PCIe cards so it should be fine imo

edit: also once i get my new switch which should be arriving next week i'll be able to remove the old I350-T4 quad-port 1Gb card at the bottom and then move the new X520-SR2 into it's spot to give is some room.

edit2: the dual-port 10Gb PCIe card i got for my QNAP NAS is tiny and adorable. also has a fan on it because you probably need one to dissipate the heat enough given the size of the PCB.

Really been going crazy with z80/z180 kits from tindie. Did an rc2014 classic ][, then an sc126, and just finished a z80 kit that breaks out all the pins. I wasn't able to use my hands well for several years and it's nice to be able to do stuff like this again.

I've got a sound card, a parallel interface, and I'll be getting an expansion card based on the video chip in the ti99/a for christmas

Gonna try to hook it all up to the sc126 and do a custom basic ROM so you can use it like an 80s micro. It already runs CP/M through romwbw, but late 70s business software isn't really that exciting.

istp: repairing and refurbishing my DIY midi pedalboard that tweakers got to (ripped out some switches and all the wires - left the $149 circuit board, lol)

its got an intentionally distressed/hosed up finish as i wanted to emulate the vibe of one of those enormous 70s amps/PA cabs that has seen a million road miles. did a lot of rubbed layers of a thin stain and then would go back and mutilate it with thinner, let it dry, did it again. bout 8 coats

I initially prototyped my PIO code in micropython. I wound up going entirely with C. Unless I missed something somewhere: anything you want to do with DMA means writing a C extension for micropython, which means learning how to build micropython for that board. It wound up being easier to just do it in C.

https://github.com/keyvin/docnotes/tree/master/z80

that's been my experience w/ micropython as well.

I'm currently building a gently caress-off big digital clock out of those cheap LED neon strips. Here's a rough rear end prototype of a single digit. i've got a second digit built, but there's as issue with the multiplexing, so i'm rethinking how i'm going to do it.

If you're just using io to turn them on and off and you need more ports you can get super cheap multiplexer chips to do that.

yes, when this happened, if i backed out to the level menu and then entered the level again, the full set of pieces was there

i tried to reproduce the bug and now it works fine, of course. maybe it is only some levels where it happens but i am not sure

Hog Crankers bug. Go into level Surf and Curf. Place all parts onto the play area, and see the text "All parts placed!" appear in the box where your parts are stored. Go into the in-level menu and click the level-restart button. When the level restarts, the "all parts placed" text doesn't get cleared, and obscures the parts as they sit in the parts bin.

have you made a thread for the game?

e: just tried the same steps in a different level and the bug happens there too
