Like I have the time. My alarm rings at 6:30, I'm at work from 8 to 16, come home 16:45, feed the kid, play with her for 1,5 hours then put her to bed, then it's almost 20:00 and i've got two hours to unwind until I go to bed.

On weekends it's the same minus the work so I just spend time with the kid and wife and we do something together. Then when she takes a nap I've got two hours to do what I want which is usually watch tv or play videoshame since what the hell vould I start that can be made in two hour slots without really getting into it?

Thank god i had a proper summer vacation so i built a small greenhousecabinet and varnished the terrace and built a flowerbed out of bricks.

I'm trying to get into woodworking but man the start up costs are not insignificant. like all the tools you gotta get, whether hand or power, are not cheap, and the materials are also v expensive unless you own a literal lumber mill

here's my current dumb project. i'm making like a play house/hiding place for babby under the desk. we used to have a file cabinet there and she'd always go back behind it and play peekaboo so i moved the file cabinet and started this

got batting and fabric today so i'll start upholstering it tomorrow, and hopefully have it done by ~her birthday~ on monday

i decided i'd see if the macintosh ii i got 20 years and three moves ago worked in any way.

it has a radius full page display card with a de-9 connector and i've never had anything i could connect to it. between that and the missing hard drive, i just let it sit.

i had to replace the two 1/2AA 3v cells on the board as they were long dead, but thankfully not leaking. in theory one of them is required for power on. it still didn't power on after replacing them, but i'm guessing one of the electrolytic caps in the power circuit is also too far gone. thankfully the jumpstart trick worked and it powered on.

using the pinout from a de-9 to hd-15 multisync adapter as a starting point, it bodged this poo poo together

and lo...

it boots off one of my system 6 disks. 8MB RAM!

the image is completely hosed, obviously, for a few reasons. there's no proper sense pin so it has no idea what resolution display it's connected to, it's a b/w display adapter but pins 1-3 which would normally be RGB all need to be connected or the video bios won't initialize properly. pin 1 is most of the image signal with luminance or something on 2 and 3. there's not much on the pinout for the de-9 version of the full page display connector, that i can find. thankfully the wfp2407hc will take just about anything and turn it into an image.

i'll keep loving around with it now that i know it boots. assuming i can find a way to get a proper image out of the fpd card, i'm going to grab a 50-pin scsi emulator and set this thing up with a/ux
