Spiders, and ONLY spider will spawn here since it has a 1 height clearance, glass celling is for appearance, if you make it stone they will spawn all the time, however since they are in the dark they will agro on you as soon as you go near it and that noise can be obnoxious. Stand in the entrance and lure them to the it with a bow, they will run at the 1-wide opening that they cannot enter, kill them how you please and collect your precious spider eyes. Nothing too complicated going on, they only need 2x2x1 as far as I know. Unless you make it long as hell, they will not spawn if you are standing next to it since mobs will not spawn within like 16 blocks of you. As for needing the power for powersuits, In the world I am in right now I find even just the solar generator module to be plenty to run my shields and full-power jetpack. If you need any more than that get the kinetic generator and learn to manage heat.

All you need is a single part of a tool to be paper in order to get the writable aspect (such as the binding which has no effect on durability), early on it is best to use stone, bone, or flint depending on what you have access too. Unfortunately, since using metal requires using the smeltery you will most likely need a normal iron pick at some point in-between. If you have Artifice, make the jump to steel early since it is durable as hell and will let you get cobalt.

You can however, chain analogue addition commands, adding 2 255 constants to output to Var 1, then on program 2 run another addition, adding 255 to Var 1 to make Var 2, etc. until you get the number you want. Unless you have Tinker's Construct or an enchanting mod, Silk Touch is a pain in the rear end to get. And even TiC requires you to sacrifice an emerald for it. (I do it anyway, but it's part of the whole point that this is eating resources.) Another option, assuming you have nether ores installed, is going to the nether and finding nether redstone, which smelts into 2 redstone ore blocks. No emeralds or enchanting required. Also, if you have TC4, you can use a fluid transposer with liquid cryotherium on cinnabar ore to get TE cinnabar, in NST atleast.

Speaking of computercraft, I just got into it recently, and it has been a fun intro to lua. However, I spent the better part of 2 hours pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to hook up a monitor to my computer, only through tons of trial and error did I find that I can't connect to the right side of my 2x2 advanced monitor with a wired modem for some undocumented reason.
